Rosewill Wolfstone Gaming Case Innovates with Build Materials
Ever wish they made cases with the same abrasive, stone-like alloys that go into building bodies of certain high-end PSUs? Rosewill did just that, with its Wolfstone chassis. This ATX mid-tower features front and top panels made of thick alloys, which give it a stone-like finish. The bottom part of the front panel features cutouts shaped like wolf claw marks, which double up as front vents for the red LED fan behind them. Some pretty neat styling, in our book.

This ATX mid-tower can hold CPU coolers as tall as 180 mm, and if you pull out one of its two drive cages, graphics cards as long as 400 mm. It features eight 3.5-inch/2.5-inch drive bays, spit between two cages, one of 5 bays, and the other of 3 bays. Internally, there are three 5.25-inch drive bays, however, just two 5.25-inch bezels on the front-panel. Cooling system includes a 120 mm front intake, two 140 mm top exhausts, a 120 mm bottom intake, and a 120 mm rear exhaust.

Rosewill Unveils AIM Series Digital PSUs
Rosewill unveiled its own line of digital PSUs, which give you software monitoring and control over its various power domains, and fan-speed. Unlike Corsair's implementation, which involves an internal USB connection to your motherboard, and a Windows app, Rosewill did something similar to Cooler Master, by equipping its PSUs with Bluetooth modules, and Android apps, which let you tweak your PSU on your smartphone, so system instability doesn't come in the way of setting your PSU right, if something goes wrong.

The AIM series of digital PSUs comes in five models - 600W, 750W, 850W, 1000W, and 1250W. It features partially modular cabling (the 24-pin ATX and 8-pin EPS, along with one pair of 8-pin PCIe power connectors, are fixed). The 600W comes with wiring for single high-end graphics card systems; 750W and 850W for two, 1000W for three, and 1250W for four. The units feature single 12V rail designs, and boast of 80 Plus Platinum efficiency ratings.

Rosewill Unveils RGB80 Compact Gaming Keyboard
Rosewill took serious strides in the direction of gaming peripherals this Computex, beginning with the RGB80 compact gaming keyboard. Featuring a signature Ducky (likely OEM) styling, the RGB80 is an 80-key mechanical keyboard. The Cherry MX Red keys are topped with RGB colors, letting you pick the color, apart from brightness, of the key back-lighting. Its likely Ducky roots can be traced back to its core-logic, which offers 10-key roll over (press up to 10 keys at once, without roll-over). The keyboard features a limited macro system, and common quick-access keys. The WASD keys stand out, with different key caps.

ASUS Unveils Hyper M.2 X4 Adapter
For all those without M.2 slots on their motherboards, and want to buy some of the new-generation SSDs that offer transfer rates as high as 1.8 GB/s, ASUS unveiled a cost-effective new way, with its ASUS Hyper M.2 X4 adapter. It's a simple half-height add-on card, which converts PCI-Express 2.0/3.0 x4 to M.2, with gen 2.0/3.0 x4 wiring, so not only can you install current-generation M.2 SSDs with PCIe 2.0 x2 link layer, but also certain upcoming ones based on SandForce 3700 series processors, that feature PCIe 2.0 x4 link layer, offering stellar 1.8 GB/s sequential transfers. The card is also future-proof against an M.2 standard that makes use of PCI-Express gen 3.0. In addition to the M.2 slot, which can seat drives as long as 12 cm, the card also features some basic electrical circuitry, and M.2 SSD link/activity LEDs. For use on older (pre-M.2 motherboards), you may need BIOS support and/or F6 drivers from the SSD manufacturer, this card is merely an adapter, of the kind Plextor bundles with its M6e SSDs.

Streacom Also Shows off NC3 Hexagonal Fanless NUC Chassis
In addition to its F12C gaming/HTPC chassis, Streacom also showed off a unique fanless chassis for Intel's NUC, the NC3. Pictured below, the NC3 is dressed for the CEO's desk. From the top it looks hexagonal in shape, with its central portion holding the NUC board, one of its triangles (black ABS plastic) holding a storage compartment; while its other triangle makes up a chunky aluminium heatsink for the CPU and core logic. Internally, a heat-pipe fed base connects the CPU to the body, which doubles up as its heatsink. Its rear I/O has cutouts for a pair of USB 3.0 ports, the RJ45 (Ethernet) connector, a mini-HDMI, and a mini-DisplayPort. The front panel, on the other hand, features connectors for not just a couple of USB 3.0 ports, and the power button, but also drops in an infrared receiver.

Streacom Unveils its First Gaming PC Case
Known more for its elegant SFF and NUC cases, Streacom took a dip into the world of gaming PC cases, with the F12C. It goes with the marketing tagline "elegant, yet powerful chassis for the living room," which tells us that Streacom is targeting that market which puts its gaming-capable PCs in the living room, and that PCs built around this case will make up as good HTPCs as gaming.

Pictured below, the F12C can seat standard ATX motherboards, with standard ATX PSUs. The case can accommodate graphics cards as long as 300 mm, and reasonably tall CPU coolers. Over the upper half of the motherboard tray are detachable radiator rails, so you can bolt on a 240 x 120 mm radiator. Additional 240 x 120 mm radiators can also be mounted along the case's left-side pair of 120 mm vents, but that would eat into one or more expansion slots. Storage area includes four 3.5-inch, and two 2.5-inch bays. Its cooling system includes two 120 mm vents on each side (one of which on the right side acts as the PSU vent); and two top exhausts (over the radiator rail). There are also passive vents over the rear I/O.

Corsair Dominator Platinum and Value Select DDR4 Modules Pictured
Corsair's Dominator line of enthusiast memory module finally gets fresh blood with the introduction of the DDR4 specification. The company showed off the first Dominator Platinum DDR4 memory module. This particular one is prepped to run at DDR4-2400 MHz speeds. Right next to it, is the Value Select DDR4, Corsair's entry-level module. The company didn't reveal its clock speeds, but given that DDR4 starts at 2133 MHz, that's likely what this module runs at. What sets the Value Select apart from the Dominator Platinum, is probably not just a tiny 267 MHz clock speed difference; but timings. The Dominator Platinum will run at far tighter timings.

EVGA Unveils a Trio of 1600W PSUs
EVGA unveiled no less than three new 1600W power supplies at Computex, including the Supernova 1600 G2 (recently announced), the Supernova 1600 T2, and the Supernova 1600 P2. Their model names should be a dead giveaway on how the three differ from each other. While the 1600 G2 lives up to 80 Plus Gold efficiency standards, the 1600 P2 scores 80 Plus Platinum, and the 1600 T2 80 Plus Titanium. The three feature nearly identical power-distribution diagrams, feature-sets; although we're not sure if the P2 and T2 translate their higher efficiency into more output connectors. Either of the three should be good enough for systems with four R9 290X, or two R9 295X2 graphics cards; but we guess the 1600 P2 and 1600 T2 should appeal to professional overclockers who also plan to throw 150W TDP Core i7-5960X "Haswell-E" into the mix.

EVGA X99 FTW Pictured Up Close
EVGA showed us one of the more 'complete' socket LGA2011-2 motherboards, decked up with its heatsinks. The company will likely name it X99 FTW. Designed for enthusiast PCs with three or more graphics cards, and high-bandwidth PCIe SSDs, and built in the ATX form-factor, the X99 FTW draws power from a combination of 24-pin ATX and 8-pin EPS power connectors, with optional stabilizing inputs from a 6-pin PCIe and a 4-pin Molex. Barring the EPS, all other connectors are angled away, to help reduce cable clutter. The CPU socket is powered by an 8-phase VRM, with 4-phase memory VRM. It's flanked by four DDR4 DIMM slots on either side, supporting up to 64 GB of quad-channel memory.

Expansion slots include five PCI-Express 3.0 x16 wired to the CPU (x16, x8, x8, x16, x8); and one PCI-Express 2.0 x4, wired to the X99 PCH. Storage connectivity includes six SATA 6 Gb/s ports from the PCH, and four SATA 6 Gb/s from a third-party controller. 8-channel HD audio, and two gigabit Ethernet interfaces complete the connectivity. The board's real goods are its overclocker-friendly features, including PCIe slot disabling DIP switches, POST sequence LEDs and error code readouts, two clear CMOS buttons, and EVGA EVBot support. EVGA is expected to launch this board, alongside Intel's Core i7 "Haswell-E" HEDT processors, later this year.

ASRock Celebrates Intel Pentium Anniversary with Special Motherboards
The Pentium brand is so important for Intel, that it continues to exist, and the company celebrated its 20th anniversary by launching a special edition dual-core socket LGA1150 Pentium chip that comes with unlocked multipliers. Trouble is, people who buy it would have to opt for expensive motherboards just to overclock it, and would rather balance their expenses with Core i3 and cheaper motherboards, instead. To address that, and bring a bottle to Intel's celebrations, ASRock launched the Anniversary series, with the ATX Z97 Anniversary, and the micro-ATX Z97M Anniversary. As their names suggest, the two are based on Intel's overclocking-ready Z97 Express chipset. The idea behind the two could be to combine the Z97 chipset with a basic VRM that's just about enough to push the Pentium Anniversary Edition chip to its limits.

The Z97 Anniversary is a highly space-optimized ATX motherboard. It draws power from a combination of 24-pin ATX, 8-pin EPS, and 4-pin Molex power connectors. It uses a 5-phase VRM to condition power to the CPU, cooled by a heatsink. The CPU is wired to four DDR3 DIMM slots, and the lone PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slot. Three PCI-Express 2.0 x1, and two legacy PCI make for the rest of its expansion. Storage connectivity includes six SATA 6 Gb/s ports. Networking is care of an Intel-made gigabit Ethernet controller. The onboard 6-channel HD audio is handled by an ALC887 CODEC, but backed by electrolytic capacitors. HDMI is its only display output.

Add-on cards can easily be as long and tall as they make them. At the bottom of the case, are four large fans, with a mesh, onto which you can latch on radiators of all shapes and sizes. The drive cage and PSU bay are suspended along a sloping panel, in a way that they don't obstruct anything near the motherboard tray. The actual "front-panel" is located at the top. (NASDAQ: PLXT), the global leader in PCI Express (PCIe) silicon and software connectivity solutions, today announced the industry's first USB-to-PCI Express solution to bridge the external connectivity gap laptop computers face when using PCIe-based solid-state drives (SSDs). The recently completed reference design platform, based on PLX PCIe 2.0-to-USB 3.0 SuperSpeed controller technology and housed in an external dongle enclosure, empowers laptop and storage vendors to leverage both USB 3.0's 5 gigabits/second (Gbps) speeds and PCIe 2.0's 5 Gbps performance. By combining two of the industry's most powerful and widely used interconnect technologies into a unified solution, end users don't face the connectivity limitations they've had to with their internal SSDs.

With this new platform, OEMs are able to create solutions that leverage laptops' USB 3.0 ports and connect effortlessly to PCIe-based, small-form-factor SSDs in external enclosures. Additionally, embedded system makers can design the PLX controller technology directly into systems in which PCIe isn't already native, creating direct PCIe-to-USB 3.0 connectivity to achieve a similarly powerful external-SSD connection.

(PR) PC Outlook Remains Subdued Despite Some Gains In Mature Markets, Says IDC
Worldwide PC shipments are expected to fall -6.0% in 2014, a slight adjustment from the previous forecast of -6.1%, according to the International Data Corporation (IDC) Worldwide Quarterly PC Tracker. Mature regions benefitted primarily from a recovery surge in Western Europe while other mature regions performed modestly above expectations in the first quarter of 2014 (1Q14).

Emerging regions continued to see weak demand and difficult conditions, although the economic environment in Latin America had the largest impact. The impact to emerging regions - a cornerstone of long-term market stability - outweighed the short-term boost seen in mature regions. As a result, longer-term growth was lowered slightly (by less than a percent for 2015-2017), with 2015 at -1.6% year on year with subsequent years still between 0 and -1% growth.

(PR) AVADirect Introduces Desktops Featuring Intel's Unlocked Haswell Processors
The moment AVADirect began to walk down the road of partnership with Intel, they immediately recognized how special said path would be. As unique as it was (and still is) AVADirect felt it a necessary step in the right, collaborative direction. As Intel is creating an enthusiast following through ground-breaking processor technology, and AVADirect following suit with their one-of-a-kind custom configurations, enthusiasts begin to see a wonderment of high-end solutions unfold. That being said, the reveal of Intel's new, refreshed, unlocked 4th Generation Intel desktop processors makes the perfect addition to AVADirect' armament of Gaming, Performance, and mini-Desktop configurations.

These new Unlocked Intel processors means unlimited potential, and decreased limitations toward advantageous performance that, what was once industry standard, will burn a hole in your competition through smooth-playing gunfire, rather than your system's thermals. The (code-named "Devil's Canyon") 4th Generation CPU's have gained positive press based on reduced thermal operation while under extreme overclocking modifications. What this means, exactly, is end-users/enthusiasts may no longer need to seek high-end cooling solutions (closed-loop/custom liquid cooling) to acquire desirable temperatures while under full load, overclocked, and pushed to the max. This could very well be a new industry standard, coming of age, and (once again) with Intel's leading products for those who wish to utilize the latest processor technologies to their greatest benefit.
