Inter-Tech Outs SY-139 ATX Mid-Tower Cases
German peripherals maker Inter-Tech rolled out the SY-139 line of ATX mid-tower cases. Available in two color options, dark gray (SY-139-GR) and black (SY-139-BKL), the case features a unique monolithic front panel design, with a single 5.25-inch optical drive tray pop-out, and a bulged out side-panel with two fan mounts. The case measures 195 mm x 430 mm x 413 mm (WxDxH), and is made of SECC steel and ABS plastic.



Although its front panel has just one 5.25-inch bay, internally, it features four (we wonder why). Other bays include two 3.5-inch, and one 2.5-inch. The case features a top-oriented PSU bay. Cooling system includes an 80 mm rear spinner, a 120 mm front-intake, and two 140 mm side intakes. Front panel connectivity includes an SD/microSD card reader, two USB 3.0 ports (standard header), and HDA front-panel audio jacks.

(PR) Toshiba and SanDisk Celebrate the Opening of the Second Phase of Fab 5
Toshiba Corporation and SanDisk Corporation today celebrated the opening of the second phase of the No. 5 semiconductor fabrication facility (Fab 5) and the start of construction of the new No. 2 fabrication facility (Fab 2) at Yokkaichi Operations, Toshiba's NAND Flash memory plant in Mie prefecture, Japan.



Toshiba started construction of the second phase of Fab 5 in August 2013, and Toshiba and SanDisk have overseen installation of production equipment in the expanded facility since July this year. Production in phase 2 began at the start of this month, with 15 nm NAND flash memory process technology, the world's smallest and most advanced node. Toshiba and SanDisk announced deployment of this jointly developed 15 nm NAND flash process in April this year, with initial production in part of Fab 5 phase 1, and now target conversion of the remaining capacity in phase 1 to the new process technology.

AUOptronics Develops 144 Hz WQHD IPS Panel
Display panel OEM AU Optronics announced development of a new 27-inch AHVA panel. AHVA, or advanced hyper-viewing angle, is AU Optronics' equivalent of LG's IPS panel technology, and is not to be confused with AMVA (advanced multidomain vertical alignment). Codenamed M270DAN02.3, the panel offers stellar refresh rates of 144 Hz, and native resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. Other vitals include 1000:1 contrast ratio, 350 cd/m² maximum brightness, sRGB gamut, and of course, 178°/178° viewing angles. Its introduction could spur growth of "gaming" grade monitors, which come with technologies specific to gaming PCs, such as AMD FreeSync and NVIDIA G-Sync support, that dynamically sync the display's refresh-rate with the frame-rate of the graphics card, to minimize stuttering, and produce a fluid display output.

JEDEC Solid State Technology Association, the global leader in the development of standards for the microelectronics industry, today announced the publication of JESD229-2 Wide I/O 2. Wide I/O 2 offers a significant speed increase over Wide I/O, while retaining Wide I/O's vertically stacked through silicon via (TSV) architecture and optimized packaging. ELSA Announces Single-slot GeForce GTX 750 Ti Graphics Card
ELSA announced the GeForce GTX 750 Ti SP, a single slot, air-cooled graphics card based on NVIDIA's first "Maxwell" based GPU. Sticking to single-slot dimensions, the card is 18.4 cm long, featuring a full-length metal shroud covering a nickel-plated copper channel heatsink, which is ventilated by a 70 mm spinner. The card draws all its power from the PCI-Express 3.0 bus interface. Display outputs include two dual-link DVI, and one mini-HDMI. That's not all, it also comes with a tiny factory-overclock.
