Gigabyte BRIX Pro And Intel Iris Pro Graphics
The Gigabyte BRIX Pro is a tiny 4.5-inch square "brick" of technology, if you will, and it's powered by an Intel Core i7-4770R quad-core processor with integrated Intel Iris Pro Graphics 5200. This CPU actually boasts the fastest, most powerful Intel graphics engine we have tested to date, so this should be an interesting ride to say the least. hothardware.com

Samsung XP941 Native PCIe M.2 SSD (512GB)
As we have previously mentioned in our review of the Plextor M6M solid state drive, it is important to remember that SSD's can come in different shapes and sizes. Not all drives are going to be the 2.5" form factor and fit perfectly into your ultra book or desktop. We spoke briefly about the mSATA form factor and that you will find it most often in a laptop, but as laptops and ultra books become slimmer, the demand for smaller, yet faster, drives increases. Bring in the native PCIe M.2 form factor. The PCIe M.2 SSD eliminates the SATA 3 bottleneck, where with SATA 3 you can expect SSD speeds around 500 MB/s, but with PCIe you can expect speeds nearly double this. Incredible isn't it? Imagine, 1GB/s and you are not even using a RAID 0 configuration; it really is astonishing. The Samsung XP941 PCIe M.2 SSD is one of, if not the fastest drive we have ever seen. technologyx.com

OCZ VERTEX 460 240GB SSD
We recently put the Vector 150 SSD to the test which impressed us but our main criticism was the price. Today, we look at the opposite end of the scale with the Vertex 460. The Vertex 460 is much more budget conscious but that isn't to say the drive compromises on either speed or quality because with up to 545MB/s Sequential Read and up to 525MB/s Sequential Write performance and a 3 year warranty you would be foolish to write off (excuse the pun) this very rapid storage solution. vortez.net

Samsung Galaxy S5 Android Smartphone
Ive been a fan of the Galaxy series of smartphones from Samsung since the first Galaxy S many moons ago. Yes, some people may have their gripes about the plasticky feel, the oversaturated display or the TouchWiz UI, but my impressions of these phones has generally been positive. Given this, I fully expected to be equally impressed the newly launched Samsung Galaxy S5. Is this fifth-generation device worth your hard-earned money? Or are there better alternatives on the market? megatechnews.com

Apacer launches SATA 3.0 slim SSDs
Apacer launches SATA 3.0 slim SSDs to meet the need for industrial mobility devices

With the trend in terminal products toward mobility, the built-in storage devices have turned to compact design in specification and size, and stronger durability are required for the products. Aiming at industrial computers driven by the trend, Apacer launches two ultra slim SSDs: JEDEC MO-297-compliant SFD 18S6 and MO-300-compliant mSATA A1. The small size equipped with SATA 3.0 high-speed transmission interface, along with the products features of low power consumption, durability and high performance, will become the necessary storage solution for the rise of the new mobility devices. It can be specially applied to medical tablet PCs, bedside healthcare, mobile on-board unit and data communication system devices.
Adopting SATA 3.0 high-speed transmission interface and equipped with 1x nm Toggle DDR 2.0 NAND Flash chips, Apacer SFD 18S6 and mSATA A1 SSDs boast the maximum sequential read/write speed of 470/470 MB/sec and IOPs up to 70K, with excellent booting performance and highly-reliable SLC solution. They are surely capable of supporting the operation in stringent environment, like industry-level wide-temp (-40°C~85°C) operation. To balance performance with cost, the cost-effective MLC solution is another option for application, with a maximum sequential read/write speed of 475/430 MB/sec and IOPs up to 65K, both of which are available in capacity up to 256GB, along with large capacity and high speed, providing best overall performance.
As to power consumption, Industrial mobility devices shall deliver strong endurance, to satisfy the portability requirement. As a result, the product design shall be based on the power saving of all components, suggested Jeff Lin, the Senior Embedded Business Unit Director of Apacer. These two products adopt solutions with new process technology, so the power consumption during idle mode is significantly reduced by more than 50%, compared with their predecessor. Supporting DEVSLP (Device Sleep) signaling protocol, they can enter the low power state while in standby, effectively saving power.
Besides, as to data safety, the products launched this time both feature the 40 bit ECC (Error Correcting Code) function and support Apacer SSDWidget real-time SSD monitoring software, and Apacers exclusive CoreSecurity Technology, all of which help boost the product reliability and stability. In addition, the products can be customized to meet the coating need for IP57 certified water-proof and dust-proof, qualified as the best storage options with stable performances.
With more than 15 years of experience in the SSD market, Apacer is one of the few Taiwanese manufacturers with software, hardware and firmware R&D capacity and can launch pioneering products ahead of its industrial peers. It also enjoys robust manufacturing quality, excellent customizability and real-time technical supports. Once recognized and validated by the client, its firmware and main components can be fixed immediately and supplied to the client in a stable and highly reliable manner, hence reducing the risks of undersupply and incompatibility. Therefore, Apacer products has been certified by topnotch U.S. and Japanese clients and become one of the worlds top 10 PC SSD suppliers. Samples of Apacers SFD 18S6 and mSATA A1 SSDs are available to all customers for evaluations and testing now. For more details, please feel free to contact local Apacer sales representatives.

Noctua presents NH-D15 Cooler
Vienna, April 8th 2014 - Noctua today introduced its new flagship-model NH-D15. Built on the basis of the legendary NH-D14 and carrying on its quest for ultimate quiet cooling performance, the NH-D15 is an elite-class dual tower cooler for the highest demands.

"Having convinced tens of thousands of quiet cooling enthusiasts around the globe, our NH-D14 has become a reference for top-tier dual tower heatsinks", explains Mag. Roland Mossig, Noctua CEO. "In the end, it took us more than three years of continuous development, countless thermal simulations and over hundred samples to come up with a substantial improvement in efficiency. Staying true to our policy of not releasing anything we're not 100% satisfied with, we had to accept some delays in order to squeeze out the last few percent of performance, but now we're proud to finally release the NH-D15 as a worthy successor to the venerable D14."
Noctua's NH-D14 has received more than 350 awards and recommendations from leading international hardware websites and magazines, making it one of the most successful premium heatsinks ever built. With its expanded layout and dual NF-A15 fans, the NH-D15 further improves the D14's much acclaimed quiet cooling performance.
Compared to the NH-D14, the NH-D15's fin-stack has been widened from 140 to 150mm and its heatpipes are now spaced further apart, which allows for a more uniform heat distribution over a larger surface area and thus contributes to the NH-D15's superior efficiency. Thanks to its recessed lower fins, the NH-D15 provides 64mm clearance for tall memory heatsinks in single fan mode, making it compatible with most high end RAM modules on the market.
The NF-A15 premium fans supplied with the NH-D15 support PWM for convenient automatic speed control through the mainboard. In addition, the maximum fan speed can be reduced from 1500 to 1200rpm using the supplied Low-Noise Adaptor for even quieter operation.
Topped off with the trusted, pro-grade SecuFirm2 multi-socket mounting system, Noctua's proven NT-H1 thermal compound and full 6 years manufacturer's warranty, the NH-D15 forms a complete premium quality solution that represents a deluxe choice for overclockers and silent-enthusiasts alike.
Pricing and availability
The NH-D15 will be available by mid-April at suggested retail prices of EUR 89.90 / USD 99.90.
