Semiconductor sales in February - up on-year, down sequentially
The Semiconductor Industry Association has released its latest (brief) analysis of the global chip market, revealing that in February, semiconductor sales reached $25.2 billion. This result is up 13.6% from the $22.2 billion recorder in February 2010 but down 1.1% compared to January 2011.

Acer Iconia Tab A100 Tegra 2 tablet listed at آ£300, to ship on April 20th
According to Amazon UK, Acer's tablet offensive will continue this month with the release (on April 20th apparently) of the Iconia Tab A100, a 7-inch tablet which is powered by Nvidia's Tegra 2 dual-core chip and runs Android 3.0 (Honeycomb).

Intel adds 10-core Xeon processors to its product offer
Intel has now expanded its server line-up with 29 new, 32nm Xeon processors and ten of them feature no less than 10 cores and 20 threads. Of course, AMD still has one up with its 12-core Opterons but Intel is closing in on core count.

The reported Radeon HD 5790 launch day is April 5th so it seems AMD's new Barts-powered card has slipped out early as you can already purchase it from Newegg. The model available bears the PowerColor brand, has a custom cooler but resorts to stock frequencies.
