Intel launches the Atom 'Oak Trail' platform, promises May availability
Intel today officially introduced its newest Atom-based mobile platform (codenamed Oak Trail) claiming that it already has 35 design wins and that we should see the first devices based on it as soon as May.

Samsung Galaxy S II reaching the UK on May 1st
Just a few days after denying rumors regarding the delay of its flagship Android smartphone, Samsung has stepped up to the plate to provide some solid information about the availability of the Galaxy S II. As it turns out, this phone will become available in the UK in three weeks time, on May 1st.

Apple to stay on top of the tablet game through 2015 says Gartner
Despite expecting the iPad's share in the tablet market to drop in the years to come, research firm Gartner predicts that Apple will continue to be the number one tablet player, and the iOS the top platform for such devices, until at least 2016.

MSI announces the N560GTX-Ti Hawk graphics card
MSI's Hawk line of customized, overclocking-ready graphics cards is growing still and the latest addition is the N560GTX-Ti Hawk, a model based on the GeForce GTX 560 Ti that looks nothing like Nvidia's upper-mid-range offer.

Intel Z68 chipset said to launch on May 8th
Intel's 'best of both worlds' LGA 1155 chipset, the Z68 has previously been confirmed to have a Q2 release and a new report claims to have narrowed down its launch to a (hopefully) sunny Sunday, May 8th.

Taipei's own KWorld Computer has today revealed to the world its newest media player, a black box called M210 which is more than capable of playing 1080p content on your HDTV and of streaming content from the interweb or external storage devices.

Samsung preps (at least) two bada 2.0 smartphone for 2H 2011
A recent leak from a Samsung event in France reveals that the South Korean company is working at two smartphones based on its bada 2.0 platform, one of them being scheduled for a September release (in France) while the other is set for a November arrival.

MOSAID Tech sues Nvidia, Freescale & Interphase for patent infringement
Ottawa-based semiconductor and communications IP company MOSAID Technologies has last week filed a complaint in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas (the infamous Tyler Division) through which it claims Nvidia, Freescale and Interphase are violating its patents.

Delkin offering 95 MB/s SDHC memory cards
Taking advantage of the UHS specs, Delkin was able to develop a new line of SDHC memory cards (Elite 633 UHS-I) which will surely please HD enthusiasts with their transfer speeds - up to 80 MB/s when writing and up to 95 MB/s when reading.

Sony's VAIO L Series all-in-one PC to hit European shops next week
Sony's February-announced VAIO L Series all-in-one system is closing in fast, the projected arrival date in Europe being mid-April (next week). According to its maker, this Huron River-powered VAIO is set to start at €1,299.

Stealth comes out with the LPC-670 mini PC
Stealth Computer has now introduced its most powerful mini PC yet, a 6.54" by 6.18" by 1.89" system (named LPC-670 ) enclosed in a rugged aluminum chassis which is aimed for use within industrial, commercial, military, utility, transportation, mining and telecommunications markets.

Gigabyte unveils the ECO600 wireless mouse
Yet another wire-free mouse is coming out way courtesy of Gigabyte and it promises up to 12 months of operating using two AA batteries. The peripheral in question is named ECO600, it utilizes 2.4GHz wireless connectivity, and is paired up with a Nano USB receiver.

Mozilla plans see Firefox 5 coming out on June 21st
As promised before Firefox 4.0 shipped, Mozilla has revamped the development process of its open source browser, making it more Chrome-like in terms of delivery. This means that, by the end of 2011 we should have Firefox 5, 6 and 7 out and about.

Richmond-based custom PC seller Velocity Micro has decided on giving its Raptor gaming systems an edge so it enlisted Asetek and the 570LC CPU cooling solution. The 570LC has thus become available as a cooling option for the Raptor Z90 and was added by default to the Raptor Signature Edition.

HIS unveils its IceQ X-enhanced Radeon HD 6950 cards
(Hightech Information System) has literally went Cayman-crazy as today it announced no less than six cards based on this GPU. Interestingly-enough, all these cards are Radeon HD 6950s, 1GB and 2GB versions, all equipped with an IceQ X cooler and more or less overclocked.

OCZ starts shipping the Vertex 3 solid state drives
Six weeks have passed since their announcement and now OCZ's Vertex 3 consumer-grade solid state drives have started shipping, promising to deliver double the performance of the Vertex 2 models by using SandForce's new SF-2200 controller and a SATA 6.0 Gbps interface.

MSI's FX420, FR720 & FX720 laptops make their US debut
