Hanvon has recently confirmed its presence at CeBIT 2011 (March 1-5) and revealed its a new e-reader, an Android 2.2-powered device called HPad A112 which features a 7-inch (capacitive or resistive) touchscreen and is expected to become available in the second half of this year.

HP retires Envy 13 thin and light laptop
It's not like thin isn't 'in' but even so HP has decided to discontinue its 2.05 cm-thick Envy 13 laptop, leaving the larger, heavier and not-as-thin Envy 14 to pick up the slack. The Envy 13 was released in October 2009 together with the Envy 15.

Mushkin not moving to 25nm NAND just yet, claims consumers don't benefit

Intel spending $5 billion on new US chip plant
Continuing its investments on US soil, Intel Corp. has pledged to shell out over $5 billion on a new microprocessor fab in Chandler, Arizona. The facility, named Fab 42, will be equipped for 300mm production and is expected to create thousands of construction and permanent manufacturing jobs.

Samsung develops high bandwidth mobile memory
Using its 50nm-class technology, Samsung Electronics was able to manufacture wide I/O 1Gb (128MB) mobile DRAM chips which have a bandwidth of 12.8 GB/s - eight times that of regular mobile DRAM (which tops at 1.6 GB/s) and four times that of LPDDR2 DRAM (3.2 GB/s).
