Gigabyte Atom N550-powered T1005M convertible tablet PC up on pe-order
Another mobile PC powered by the Atom N550 dual-core processor is closing in and it is made by Taiwan's own Gigabyte Technology. The machine in question is known as T1005M and is a convertible tablet that runs Windows 7 Home Premium and packs a 10.1-inch (1366 x 768) multi-touch capacitive display.

Biostar intros the A880G+ micro ATX AM3 motherboard
Biostar MicroTech has this week revealed the A880G+, an AMD 880G/SB710-based AM3 micro ATX motherboard which includes the proprietary BIO-Unlocking and Game Boost features that enable core unlocking and easy overclocking of the integrated GPU (Radeon HD 4250).

Kingston DDR3 memory breaks frequency record, tops 3068 MHz
DDR4? Who needs it when DDR3 has matured to such an extent that a 2333 MHz kit, namely Kingston's HyperX KHX2333C9D3T1K3, was last week at GamesCom 2010 taken to a record-setting frequency of 3068 MHz. Mushkin has now expanded its Callisto deluxe line of SandForce SF-1200-based 2.5-inch solid state drives through the introduction of a model with 40GB worth of storage space. This one is the lowest-capacity SSD in the Callisto family.

Logitech details five new Ultimate Ears earphones
Logitech has now announced a new range of noise-isolating earphones to help us enjoy music when in front of the PC or when on the move. The products introduced today are the Ultimate Ears 500, 350, 200, 500vi and 200vi earphones, the last two being targeted towards mobile use.

JVC preps the PICSIO GC-WP10 and GC-FM2 Full HD pocket cameras

Chimei files another patent lawsuit against Sony
Taiwanese LCD panel manufacturer Chimei Innolux has yesterday submitted with the US District Court in Delaware a complaint accusing Sony of patent infringement. Last month Chimei filed a similar suit against Sony with the US District Court for the Western District of Arkansas.

There's no doubt about it, Acer will be releasing a Chrome OS-based netbook later this year so leaks were bound to happen, with the latest revealing some of the specifications of the machine Google's operating system is being installed and tested on.

Sony also announces the a55 and a33 cameras with Translucent Mirror tech
Two more Alpha series cameras are coming up and they both feature Sony's newly-introduced Translucent Mirror technology which enables higher levels of auto focus speed for both still image and movie shooting. The new cameras are known as a33 and a55 and will be released this fall.

No Windows 7-powered WindPad until 2011, says MSI
Wintel tablets (or slates if you want) are not getting much love this year and proof of that stands in the decision of companies like Asus and MSI to not ship such devices in 2010. MSI has already showcased Atom-powered and Windows 7-based tablets at Computex in June but it won't reach retail yet.

Samsung 470 Series solid state drives hit stores
Despite a lack of official bragging (read an announcement), Samsung's newest 2.5-inch solid stated drives, known as the 470 Series, have started to become available in Europe (and Japan too apparently) in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB capacities.
