iPhone 3GS launch was AT&T's best sales day ever
According to a leaked AT&T internal memo, the iPhone 3GS' launch day was the carrier's best of the best days in terms of sales, and you can bet that Apple's smartphone accounted for a large number of purchases. The record-braking theme of June 19 doesn't stop as sales though as the day also saw the most transactions being processed via AT&T's IT systems, the most upgrade eligibility checks, and it was the largest order day, and largest features sales day in att.com history.

While not sharing any exact numbers, AT&T mentions that iPhone 3GS sales on launch day were higher than those of the iPhone 3G on its release day. Overall though, both the 3G and 3GS sold 1 million units in three days so that evens things out.

For more info about the iPhone 3GS offer from AT&T check out this page.

EMTEC preps the 'GBox' ION nettop
There's not much on the market today in terms of ION products (apart from Acer's AspireRevo), but a lot of things are in the works, and that includes the recently unveiled GBox (name is not final) from EMTEC. Seen below, the upcoming nettop is pretty slim and features an Atom CPU (exact model unknown, either the N270 or N280), GeForce 9400M integrated graphics, an 160GB hard drives, and most likely 1GB of RAM.

The nettop will have six USB 2.0 ports, run Windows XP, and be available with just a D-Sub output at أ‚آ£179 ($292 / 209 Euro), or with a HDMI connector (priced a bit higher). The GBox's release date has not been revealed so we'll just have to wait on EMTEC (or a third party) to come up with that info.

AMD talks up 'Suzuka' Opterons
One month ago AMD made big news with the launch of its six-core Opteron server processors (codename 'Istanbul') but those weren't the only chips introduced. Through a new post in the AMD at work blog, John Fruehe, the Director of Business Development for Server/Workstation products at AMD, started talking about another of June's server-oriented releases, the quad-core 'Suzuka' CPUs.

The Opteron 1000 series Suzuka processors are said to provide flexibility and power while keeping costs down and are aimed for use within single-socket web servers, small business servers, and workstations. All Suzuka models are made using the 45nm process node and are compatible with systems powered by their predecessors - although a BIOS update is required.

The 2.5 GHz Opteron 1381, 2.7 GHz 1385 and 2.9 GHz 1389 have 6MB of L3 cache, an Average CPU Power (ACP) of 75W, a TDP of 115W, and are priced at $189, $229, and $269, respectively.
