Nofan Working on Affordable CR-80EH Silent CPU Cooler
Silent cooling solutions maker Nofan, of the CR-95C fame, unveiled its second, more affordable silent CPU cooler, the CR-80EH. While its bigger, copper-built sibling can handle CPUs with TDP of up to 95W, this one caps out at 80W, so it should handle certain low-power variants of quad-core Intel Core "Ivy Bridge" and "Haswell" chips just fine.
The cooler features a diameter for its upper ring of 155 mm, and a height of 113 mm. Built of copper, it weighs about 300 g. Its design involves a solid copper base that's polished to a mirror finish, from which copper fins project up and out in a conical fashion. A 6 mm-thick heat pipe holds the fin array together. The Nofan CR-80EH supports Intel sockets LGA1150, LGA1155, and LGA1156. AMD socket FM2 is also supported, but the manufacturer recommends chips with under 80W TDP. The CR-80EH is expected to arrive in a few weeks, priced at US $60.

NVIDIA today reported revenue for the third quarter of fiscal 2014, ended Oct. 27, 2013, of $1.054 billion, up 7.9 percent from $977.2 million in the previous quarter. GAAP earnings per diluted share were $0.20, up 25.0 percent from $0.16 in the previous quarter. Non-GAAP earnings per diluted share were $0.26, up 13.0 percent from $0.23 in the previous quarter.
NVIDIA also announced a 13 percent increase in the quarterly cash dividend to $0.085 per share ($0.34 per share on an annual basis) from $0.075 per share ($0.30 per share on an annual basis). NVIDIA will pay its next quarterly cash dividend of $0.085 per share on Dec. 13, 2013, to all stockholders of record on Nov. 21, 2013.

NVIDIA Announces Market Availability of GeForce GTX 780 Ti
NVIDIA announced the market availability of its GeForce GTX 780 Ti graphics card. Based on the same "GK110" silicon as the GTX TITAN, the GTX 780 Ti features its full complement of 2,880 CUDA cores, 240 TMUs, 48 ROPs, and a 384-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface, holding 3 GB of memory. The core is clocked at 875 MHz, with a maximum GPU Boost frequency of 928 MHz; the the memory is clocked at a staggering 7.00 GHz (GDDR5-effective), at which the memory bandwidth is 336 GB/s.
The GeForce GTX 780 Ti is based on the same PCB and cooling solution as the GeForce GTX 780, draws power from a combination of 6-pin and 8-pin PCIe power connectors, features a PCI-Express 3.0 x16 bus interface, and a combination of two DVI, and one each of HDMI and DisplayPort connectors. The card is 4-way SLI capable. NVIDIA is pricing the GeForce GTX 780 Ti at US $699.99, about $150 pricier than the Radeon R9 290X, but close to $300 cheaper than the GTX TITAN. Lenovo Group today announced results for its second fiscal quarter ended September 30, 2013. Quarterly revenue was US$9.8 billion, a 13 percent increase year-over-year. Second quarter profit grew even faster with pre-tax income increasing 30 percent year-over-year to US$265 million, while earnings grew 36 percent year-over-year to US$220 million. Lenovo posted a record 29 million devices sold in the quarter, which is about four devices every second. The company's strong global execution of its Protect and Attack strategy, innovative product portfolio and an increasing mix of PC Plus revenues drove the results.
For the second straight quarter, Lenovo was the world's largest PC vendor*, with its highest-ever quarterly market share of 17.7 percent up 2 points year-over-year. Number one positions in five of the top seven PC markets - which cover one quarter of the world's population - supported this strong performance. Lenovo's PC shipments for the second fiscal quarter were 14.1 million units, again making it the fastest growing of the top five PC vendors. This was also the 18th quarter in a row that Lenovo outperformed the industry as a whole.
