SilenX Effizio EFZ-120HA5 Cooler
The crew at Overclockers Club have just published their review of the SilenX Effizio EFZ-120HA5 heatpipe HSF today. How well does this budget cooler perform under stress? Here's a quote from the review:

Comparing it to the similarly-priced Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo, it's close in performance everywhere except under overclocked load where the Hyper 212 Evo pulls ahead by a couple of degrees. Across the whole spectrum, it seems like it lays towards the bottom end of grading but it's important to remember that for a sub-$40 cooler, it significantly outperforms the stock Intel cooler in every test.

Dell Looking to Buy Quest Software
Dell is in the shopping mood and is looking hungrily at Quest Software. Quest works with database, server and workspace management, which is the direction Dell is moving; away from the dependence on hardware and personal computers. Facebook Reportedly Building Phone with Ex-Apple Engineers
There just might be a good reason Facebook is reported to be interested in acquiring the Opera Browser: the reason may be the very real possibility of Facebook building its own smartphone. The reports have been coming in that Facebook has been actively recruiting former Apple engineers from the iPhone and iPad projects.

Bilton points out rather than go against Apple in the smartphone marketplace, it could be Facebook vs. Android-maker Google, with both going after buyers of lower-priced smartphones.

Video Games and Porn Creating the 'Demise of Guys'?
Yet another in a series of concepts blaming the Internet for all of the troubles of the world. This time Dr. Phillip Zimbardo combines two of the most maligned areas of the Internet, video games and porn, cobbles them together to create what he considers to be the major source of the 'Demise of Guys', unless of course, there is adequate female interest in either topic. Thanks to The Weazmeister for the heads up.

Increasingly, researchers say yes, as young men become hooked on arousal, sacrificing their schoolwork and relationships in the pursuit of getting a tech-based buzz.

AT&T Upgrading High Density Cell Coverage
AT&T is finally addressing a problem that is only going to get worse if steps aren't taken. AT&T is fitting areas of heavy crowd density such as arenas, convention centers, airports and stadiums with what is called Distributed Antenna Systems, basically a fancy way of referring to a radius of antennas around the area. The system will be able to accommodate other participating carriers, not just AT&T.

The basic idea is to break up the service into smaller bite-sized chunks that are easier for the network to handle. The DAS works by splitting the area that needs additional coverage into multiple zones, ranging from a dozen up to multiple dozens, depending on the density of the population.

Steve Ballmer's 80" Windows 8 Whiteboard
Sometimes it's really good to be the boss. In Steve Ballmer's office hangs an 80 inch tablet touchscreen that replaces his note pad, email and phone. It's not in production yet, but you can bet this is the direction technology is moving towards. Still, it's good to be the boss and get all of the neato, new toys to play with.

"Every screen should be touch, every screen should be a computer and should be able to see out as well as see in. That is the way the world is heading [and] those screens are going to be big, small, wall-sized and desk-sized."
