Whitman may take over as HP's CEO today
HP's rumored change in leadership could happen sooner than we thought. According to "multiple sources" quoted by AllThingsD, HP will announce the replacement of CEO Leo Apotheker with former eBay chief Meg Whitman later today, right after markets close.
Interestingly, it's said Whitman will take over as CEO permanently—not in an interim capacity. The Wall Street Journal named Whitman yesterday as a potentially reluctant candidate for an interim CEO position. Perhaps that reluctance was about the "interim" part of the job title. OCZ's Synapse brings SSD caching to multiple platforms
The Smart Response SSD caching technology Intel debuted with its Z68 Express chipset is very slick indeed. To go along with it, Intel even designed a 311 Series solid-state drive decked out with exotic SLC memory. That SSD only serves up 20GB of caching capacity, which looks a little light next to OCZ's new line of Synapse SSDs. 3D-enabled Flash Player 11 coming next month
Unfazed by the cold shoulder Microsoft seems to be giving it, Adobe has announced a new version of its Flash Player designed to usher in real-time, "console-quality" 3D graphics. Adobe Flash Player 11 is due out in early October, and it will be accompanied by a new AIR 3 runtime, the company says.

All that talk about a second-generation, Kal-El-powered Eee Pad Transformer may not have been just idle speculation. Benchmarks for an "Asus Transformer TF201" made their way onto the GLBenchmark website.
