ASUS Launches X99M-WS Micro-ATX Motherboard
ASUS formally launched the X99M-WS, a socket LGA2011v3 motherboard based on Intel X99 Express chipset, which it first showcased back in June, at Computex 2015. ASUS claims that this workstation-class motherboard is the most feature-rich X99-based product in the micro-ATX form-factor. The board supports Core i7 "Haswell-E" processors, in addition to certain Xeon E5 v3 series models. The board draws power from a combination of 24-pin ATX, two 8-pin EPS, and 6-pin PCIe power connectors. It uses an 8-phase VRM to condition power for the CPU, and 2+2 phase VRM for the memory. The board features four DDR4 DIMM slots, supporting up to 64 GB of quad-channel DDR4 memory.
Expansion slots on the X99M-WS include three PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots (permanent x16/x16/x8 or x8/x8/x8 when i7-5820 is used), and one PCIe x1. Storage connectivity includes eight SATA 6 Gb/s, and one M.2 32 Gb/s slot. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950 Specifications Surface
Here are possible specifications of NVIDIA's upcoming entry-mainstream graphics card, the GeForce GTX 950. It was earlier rumored to be named the "GTX 950 Ti." NVIDIA is designing this to succeed the GTX 750 Ti, and to compete with the Radeon R7 370. It will be based on the GM206 silicon, the same one that drives the GTX 960, but with a quarter of its CUDA cores disabled. This puts the CUDA core count of the GTX 950 at 768, and its TMU count at 48. Its ROP count will remain at 32, memory bus width at 128-bit, and it will ship with 2 GB of GDDR5 memory.
The GeForce GTX 950 will likely ship with clock speeds ranging between 1150 to 1250 MHz core, 1350 to 1450 MHz GPU Boost, and around 6.60 to 6.75 GHz memory, with its memory bandwidth set around 107.68 GB/s. The reference card will draw power from a single 8-pin PCIe power connector, and its typical board power is rated at just 90W. The card will likely feature 2-way SLI support, and its display outputs will include a combination of dual-link DVI, HDMI 2.0, and DisplayPort 1.2 connectors. NVIDIA is expected to launch the GeForce GTX 950 on 17th August, 2015.

Skylake iGPU Gets Performance Leap, Incremental Upgrade for CPU Performance
With its 6th generation Core "Skylake" processors, Intel is throwing in everything it's got, into increasing performance of the integrated graphics. This is necessitated not by some newfound urge to compete with entry-discrete GPUs from NVIDIA or AMD, but a rather sudden increase in display resolutions, after nearly a decade of stagnation. Notebook and tablet designers are wanting to cram in higher resolution displays, such as WQHD (2560 x 1440), 4K (3840 x 2160), and beyond, and are finding it impossible to achieve them without discrete graphics. This is what Intel is likely after. The aftereffect of this effort would be that the iGPU will be finally capable of playing some games at 720p or 900p resolutions, with moderate eye-candy. Games such as League of Legends should be fairly playable, even at 1080p. Intel claims that its 9th generation integrated graphics will over a 50% performance increment over the previous generation.
Moving on to CPU, and the performance-increase is a predictable 10-20% single/multi-thread CPU performance, over "Broadwell." This is roughly similar to how "Haswell" bettered "Ivy Bridge," and how "Sandy Bridge" bettered "Lynnfield." Intel will provide platform support on some of its "Skylake-U" ultraportable variants, for much of the modern I/O used by today's tablets and notebooks, which required third-party controllers, and which competing semi-custom SoCs natively offer, such as eMMC 5.0, SDIO 3.0, SATA 6 Gb/s, PCIe gen 3.0, and USB 3.0. Communications are also improved, with 2x 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 4.1, and WiDi 6.0.

(PR) Futuremark Peacekeeper to be Discontinued
With the public release of Windows 10 coming up next week it's a good time for us to review our current line up. As a result, we have decided to move Peacekeeper, our browser benchmark, to our list of unsupported products.
Peacekeeper is a universal browser benchmark for measuring JavaScript performance. More than seven and a half million people have tested their browsers and mobile devices with Peacekeeper since its release in 2009. But today, competition between browsers has largely shifted from speed to features.
Modern browsers are typically fast enough on a wide range of hardware, and the differences in speed in everyday use are trivial. A browser's features, extensions, and memory use are now much more likely to be the deciding factors reducing the relevance of pure JavaScript performance benchmarks.
