Make your own movies with GTA V's PC-only editor
We PC gamers had to wait longer than everyone else to get our hands on Grand Theft Auto V. Perhaps as consolation, Rockstar included something just for us. The PC version is the only one with the Rockstar Editor, which allows players to create, edit, and export their own in-game movies.
What better way to introduce the ...

BenQ's XL2730Z 'FreeSync' monitor reviewed
I get a little bit too excited about monitors these days, to be honest. The market for desktop PC displays has traditionally been sleepy and slow-moving, but things have changed in the past year or so. Pixel densities and display quality are up generally, and the prices for big LCD panels have been dropping at the same time. Yet in our latest TR Hardware Survey, over two thirds of our readers are rocking a main desktop monitor resolution of 1920x1200 or lower. The time has come for an awful lot of folks to consider an upgrade.

That said, perhaps the single biggest reason for PC gamers to consider upgrading their displays isn't size, pixel count, or contrast ratio. Nope, it's variable refresh technology. You may have already heard us wax poetic about the smooth animation made possible by Nvidia's G-Sync. AMD has been promising to release a competing ...

Samsung NVMe tech powers HP Z Turbo SSD
Add HP to the list of SSD providers with next-gen NVMe hotness. The company announced its Z Turbo Drive G2 at the NAB show today. Like Intel's 750 Series, the drive combines four PCIe Gen3 lanes with the NVM Express protocol. Zee Turbo is "powered by Samsung NVMe technology," and it looks like a tweaked version of the M.2-based SM951 slotted into an adapter card for HP's Z-series workstations
HP specs the drive for up to 2150MB/s sequential reads and 1550MB/s writes, matching the peak stats for the AHCI-based SM951. But the random I/O ratings are higher: 300k IOps for reads and 100k IOps for ...

Skylake reference design spotted in Shenzhen
Intel CEO Brian Krzanich confirmed in February that the Core M processor is getting a Skylake refresh in the second half of the year. Other Skylake chips are rumored for later in the year, as well, and a reference system made the rounds at the Intel Developer Forum in Shenzhen, China last week. MobileGeeks got its hands on the convertible tablet, which is laced with the latest technologies in addition to an intriguing secondary display.
Most of the action goes down on a 2560x1440 touchscreen, but the tablet also has a small e-ink display on the back. This secondary screen can be used to display photos, text, and other content. Although the e-ink sidekick ...
