(PR) Synology Introduces DiskStation DS2015xs and DS3615xs NAS
Synology today launched the new DiskStation DS2015xs and DS3615xs. Coming with built-in 10GbE SFP+ LAN ports, the 8-bay DS2015xs marks the advance of 10GbE solutions into small and medium-sized businesses. For large-scale businesses, the 12-bay DS3615xs offers the superior throughput and accuracy required for centralized data storage, management, and virtualization in distributed offices.
"Highly efficiency-minded companies are reaching beyond their limits every day, and their productivity simply should not be constrained by hardware infrastructure," said Michael Wang, product manager at Synology Inc. "We believe both SMBs and large businesses deserve storage solutions that can prepare them for a much more challenging - but rewarding - future, while carefully considering their different needs. That is how we designed DS2015xs and DS3615xs."
Powered by an all-new ARM Cortex-A15 quad-core CPU and a RAM module expandable to 8GB, DS2015xs delivers over 2,090 MB/s throughput at a cost little more than standard NAS storage for SMBs. Its two built-in 10GbE SFP+ ports as well as two 1GbE RJ-45 ports not only pave the way for businesses to transition to a 10GbE environment, but also provide support for Link Aggregation and failover. All these features, combined with the native SATA III 6Gb/s support, make DS2015xs capable of handling intensive multitasking with the kind of performance that used to be the privilege of costly enterprise-grade servers.

Xigmatek Announces TYR-SD962 CPU Cooler
Xigmatek announced the TYR-SD962, its latest entry-level CPU cooler. Featuring a conventional tower-type heatsink design, the cooler is made of a base that doubles up as a tiny heatsink, from which two 6 mm thick copper heat pipes pass, making direct contact with the CPU. The heat pipes convey heat to an aluminium fin-stack, which is ventilated by a 92 mm fan. Xigmatek bundles a 9225 fluid-dynamic bearing fan, which takes in PWM control, spins between 1,200 and 2,800 RPM, with a noise output of up to 28 dBA. Measuring 65 mm x 85 mm x 121 mm (excluding the fan), the heatsink weighs 310 g. It's game for thermal loads of up to 100W, and is compatible with LGA1150, FM2+, and AM3+ (95W TDP or below only).

(PR) NAND Flash Industry Value Poised to Grow More than 10% in 2015: Trendforce
The shrinking NAND Flash production costs resulting from the NAND Flash industry's improving technology are expected to boost demand for various end products, including SSDs and eMMCs, according to DRAMeXchange, a research division of TrendForce. NAND Flash industry value is expected to rise consistently in 2015, reaching as high as US$ 27.6 billion on annual growth of 12%.
Based on the tendency for new hardware devices to be released in the third and fourth quarters of each year and the likelihood of demand being restrained in the first two quarters, Sean Yang, an assistant vice president of DRAMeXchange, believes the NAND Flash market will thrive mostly during the second half of 2015 rather than during the first half. Increased NAND Flash demand in both the third and fourth quarters is expected to benefit the NAND Flash industry tremendously by easing any potential oversupply that occurs in the two preceding quarters and allowing the market to reach a potential balance. By the end of 2015, the NAND Flash industry has a good chance of remaining healthy and growth is expected to continue.

ASUS Announces GeForce GTX 980 ROG Matrix Platinum
ASUS announced its flagship single-GPU graphics card based on the GeForce GTX 980 chip, the Republic of Gamers (ROG) MATRIX Platinum. This is the company's third factory-overclocked and custom-designed GTX 980 offering, after the GTX 980 Poseidon, and the GTX 980 Strix OC. The card features a signature ROG-themed air cooling solution, with a high-density fin-stack heatsink, to which heat drawn from the GPU are fed by 10 mm-thick heat pipes, and cooled by two fans, one of which is an ASUS-designed CoolTech hybrid fan, which pushes air both laterally, and axially.
The PCB of the GTX 980 ROG Matrix, features a strong 14-phase VRM, which powers not just the GPU and memory, but also an ASUS-exclusive "defroster" circuit, which is essentially a resistive trace running through key areas of the card, which heats up, preventing frost formation, when the card is under LN2 cooling. As expected, this card comes factory-overclocked, and while ASUS didn't reveal the core clock, its GPU Boost frequency is a staggering 1342 MHz. The memory is untouched, at 7.00 GHz. Other features include a color-coded load indicator, ROG-themed GPU Tweak utility, and a back-plate. ASUS didn't reveal pricing details.
