ASUS GTX 760 Striker Platinum
LanOC has published a review of the ASUS GTX 760 Striker Platinum today for your viewing pleasure.

The Striker is a GTX 760 but they went a little above and beyond from their standard cards. This is actually a little bit of an unusual launch, typically special cards are limited to the highest end GPUs (like this Mars and Poseidon models), but they did something special with that GPU that more people can afford. The Unbearable Bureaucracy of Wikipedia
This article claims that Wikipedia has a huge bureaucracy problem. {citation needed}

A bureaucracy-busting squad of Wikipedians, who actively use and educate about the "ignore all rules" rule, should be recognized and commended within the community. The energy spent on bashing the newcomers, and patronizing them about the regulations, would be much better spent on helping them see the joy and beauty of creating new content on Wikipedia.

XFX Radeon R9 290X Double Dissipation
Head on over to eTeknix this evening and check out their review of the XFX Radeon R9 290X Double Dissipation video card. In case you missed it, we ran a pair of these in CrossFire (here) and overclocked one as well (here).

While XFX have lowered the price of their Double Dissipation SKU they have also recently added a "cherry picked" DD Black Edition skew with an additional 50MHz overclock and more overclocking potential, this will probably fetch slightly more than the model we are testing today but broadly speaking those cards are identical.

SF Cracks Down On 'Monkey Parking' Mobile App
There is a "spank the monkey" joke in here somewhere.

Using an iPhone application to auction off your street parking space to someone circling the block might sound tailor-made for a tech-savvy, parking-space-starved, high-cost-of-living city like San Francisco. It might, except it's illegal.

Nintendo Loses Wii Motion Controller Lawsuit
Thank you Mario! But your patents are in another castle! You have to appeal!

Judge Colin Birss said a Nintendo unit infringed two Philips patents in a ruling today. Nintendo, the world's largest maker of video games, didn't violate a third patent pertaining to modeling a body in a virtual environment, Birss said. "The common general knowledge did not include a device combining a physical motion sensor with a camera and the reasons advanced by Nintendo for putting those two sensors together in one unit are unconvincing," Birss wrote in the decision at the U.K. High Court.

The NSA's Mass Surveillance Program Still Going
Is anyone really surprised by this? I didn't think so.

Despite last night's vote by the House of Representatives and various plans for reform, the NSA is still peeking into places many think it shouldn't. The Office of the Director of National Intelligence just revealed that yesterday, the program that scoops up bulk metadata on phone calls has been renewed again.

The Enermax iVektor case is on the test bench at ThinkComputers today. For comparison purposes, you can see our evaluation here.

One interesting thing about this case is that it has a soft touch coating that is said to absorb vibrations, noise and prevent fingerprints. Besides this coating the iVektor features a large side panel window for showing off hardware, USB 3.0 support, room for large graphics cards and liquid cooling solutions and multiple tool-less installation features.
