Intel CEO guarantees Broadwell systems for the holidays
Last month, Intel CEO Brian Krzanich told investors that next-gen Broadwell processors would be available in products selling in the second half of this year. Six months is a wide window, but Krzanich narrowed it down when speaking to Reuters at the Maker Faire in San Mateo, California this weekend. Krzanich conceded that Broadwell-based machines are unlikely to be on shelves in time for the back-to-school season. Systems would need to be selling in July or August, he said, and "that's going to be tough."

AT&T to buy DirecTV for $67 billion
The massive combined company of Comcast and Time Warner Cable, if it happens, could be getting some stronger competition from AT&T and its new best pal, DirecTV. AT&T announced yesterday its intention to buy DirecTV in deal worth $67 billion, all told.

Report: Google to buy Twitch.tv for $1 billion
Multiple reports around the web claim that Google may be about to purchase game streaming giant Twitch.tv. News of the potential acquisition originated in this Variety story, which says a deal has been reached—and that it's worth a cool $1 billion in cash. The acquisition is "expected to be announced imminently," according to Variety's sources.

Gigabyte's Black Edition 750 Ti validated by week-long stress test
Gigabyte recently introduced a new breed of Black Edition motherboards that must survive a week-long torture test before leaving the factory. This stress test relies heavily on Litecoin mining, and it isn't just for motherboards. Graphics cards are also getting the Black Edition treatment. The first among them has popped up on Gigabyte's UK site; it's called the GV-N75TWF2BK-2GI, which means GeForce GTX 750 Ti Black Edition in plain English.
