Apple is scared its consumers "want what we don't have"
This time last year, Apple's executives were worried that "consumers want what we don't have" when it comes to smartphones - more specifically, larger screens or much cheaper handsets - both of which are plentiful in the Android camp.
TweakTown image apple_is_scared_its_consumers_want_what_we_don_t_have
Apple execs had noticed a rapidly decelerating growth in its sales, even while the company was selling record numbers of iPhone's. Thanks to the Apple vs. Samsung trial, we're seeing much more information about the company, and its plans to release a bigger iPhone.
The one thing Apple is going to have against itself when (and not if) it releases a bigger iPhone, is that in its previous ads and sales pushes for the previous iPhone's, is that you could use it with one hand. Apple seemed content with the 3.5- and 4-inch screen sizes on the current and previous iPhone's, but when it comes to the next-gen iPhone, all of that talk of using it with one hand is going to be thrown out the window. So when Apple says it is scared its consumers want something it doesn't half - they are right - consumers do want something different.
Ripped from a presentation note, Apple says: "Competitors have drastically improved their hardware and in some cases their ecosystems". and that its competitors are "spending 'obscene' amounts of money on advertising and/or carrier/channel to gain traction".

Leading website compromised, turns users into "DDoS zombies"
A major global website was recently hit by cybercriminals, with the hacked website turning visitors into "zombies" that in turn launched distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks. A Persistent XSS vulnerability gave cybercriminals the chance to embed malicious JavaScript code, according to enterprise security company Incapsula.
TweakTown image leading_website_compromised_turns_users_into_ddos_zombies
Each user that views a compromised profile image with the malicious code then ends up sending a GET request to targeted websites. The group responsible also posted comments on large quantities of other videos, to ensure the profile image was viewed as many times as possible.
"As a result, each time a legitimate visitor landed on that page, his browser automatically executed the injected JavaScript, which in turn injected a hidden with the address of the DDoSer's C&C domain," according to Incapsula. "Obviously one request per second is not a lot. However, when dealing with video content of 10, 20 and 30 minutes in length, and with thousands views every minute, the attack can quickly become very large and extremely dangerous."

Reflowster turns your toaster oven into managed solder reflow oven
Discrete electronic components such as resistors, capacitors and even larger IC's are shrinking down smaller every year, and that makes it harder for the average home maker or hobbyist to create their own DIY circuit boards. The difficulty comes in melting the solder paste that is used to affix the components to the PCB's circuitry. Why something as simple as a hotplate can do this, certain pad configurations and joint specifications require the "Reflow" process to be done in stages of varying temperature. In the past toaster ovens have been used for this and manually controlled, but that process was time consuming.
TweakTown image reflowster_turns_your_toaster_oven_into_managed_solder_reflow_oven
Reflowster is a new product which has just went live on Kickstarter that aims at making the toaster oven reflow method much more accurate while automating the temperature ramping process. Reflowster is basically a smart-outlet that is controlled by an Arduino-compatible microcontroller that utilizes a thermocouple temperature probe to turn the power to the toaster oven on and off to regulate the temperature. This allows the user to create custom temperature ramp profiles based on the instructions provided by various solder paste manufacturers. $100 is all it takes to get your own Reflowster which will begin shipping at the end of the year.

Bruce Lee revealed as the mystery fighter in EA Sports UFC
EA sports have finally revealed the mystery fighter for the upcoming MMA title EA Sports UFC is none other than the father of mixed martial arts Bruce Lee himself.
TweakTown image bruce_lee_revealed_as_the_mystery_fighter_in_ea_sports_ufc
EA's development team worked with Lee Enterprises who provided digital references, life-cast of Bruce's body and behind-the-scenes photos of Bruce Lee for developing the character. EA wanted the most accurate resources they can get to create a representation of the legend as much as possible.
UFC President Dana White said,"There's no debate, Bruce Lee is the father of mixed martial arts. He believed not one style of fighting was the best and that you had to have a little piece of everything to be a complete fighter. He was proven right when the first UFC event took place in 1993."

Sony announces new full-frame A7s camera that shoots 4K video
Sony has been in the full frame mirriorless camera game for quite some time now, and its A series has definitely impressed photographers worldwide. Today however, the company released a new camera to the A series that is designed to not impress photographers, but videographers.
TweakTown image sony_announces_new_full_frame_a7s_camera_that_shoots_4k_video
The new Sony A7s is designed to shoot 4K video with a full frame 12-mega-pixel sensor. A maximum ISO of 409,600 allows the new A7s to record video in a virtually pitch-black environment, but unfortunately it will have to be at 1080p resolution unless you purchase an external 4k recording device. Yes, that means that while the A7s is capable of 4K recording it can only do so through an external 4K capable recording device. No pricing or availability information was provided, but we expect it to retail well upwards of the A7's $1,999 MSRP.

Kevin Rose targeted by crazy anti-tech protesters in San Francisco
Ex Digg Nation host and Revision 3 founder, Kevin Rose, became a target of a very odd movement in San Francisco over the weekend. Rose says that anti-tech protesters gathered outside of his home in San Francisco and chanted phrases such as "Kevin Rose is a Parasite." The protesters targeted Rose because he is one of the partners at Google Ventures, and they claim that the booming tech industry is causing San Francisco to become affordable for anyone but the rich.
TweakTown image kevin_rose_targeted_by_crazy_anti_tech_protesters_in_san_francisco
Rose first posted the incident on Twitter, where he posted an image of the flyer that the group calling themselves "The Counterforce" handed out to his neighbors. "As a partner venture capitalist at Google Ventures, Kevin directs the flow of capital from Google into the tech startup bubble that is destroying San Francisco. The start-ups that he funds bring the swarms of young entrepreneurs that have ravaged the landscapes of San Francisco and Oakland," the pamphlet read.
TweakTown image kevin_rose_targeted_by_crazy_anti_tech_protesters_in_san_francisco
The group says that it is made up of anti-capitalist, anti-tech, anti-racist members from the bay area, and they feel that the San Francisco culture has been killed by rich techies from big corporations and start-ups throughout Silicon Valley. In an interview with Leo Laporte on Twit.TV, Rose said that he spoke with the protesters, and they did no seem violent, but he was not happy about the protest.
The activist posted photos from the protest on their website and posted a rather lengthy note that shows their goal is to extort $3 billion from Google so they can found communities throughout the bay area that will prevent the rich, tech-savvy entrepreneurs from moving in. I have included the full statement below. Personally, protest like this make me sick, and I wonder what these protesters would do if all of the tech companies packed up and moved east. California's economy would be crushed, and they would have no where to go but their little
hippy
"anti-capitalist" communities and whine about something else.

"To this end, we now make our first clear demand of Google. We demand that Google give three billion dollars to an anarchist organization of our choosing. This money will then be used to create autonomous, anti-capitalist, and anti-racist communities throughout the Bay Area and Northern California. In these communities, whether in San Francisco or in the woods, no one will ever have to pay rent and housing will be free. With this three billion from Google, we will solve the housing crisis in the Bay Area and prove to the world that an anarchist world is not only possible but in fact irrepressible. If given the chance, most humans will pursue a course towards increased freedom and greater liberty. As it stands, only people like Kevin Rose are given the opportunity to reshape their world, and look at what they do with those opportunities."

DICE unveils new Loadout Presets for Battlefield 4
Every map and game-type in Battlefield 4 has a different loadout requirement depending on which class you plan to play. For instance, if you were heading into a Conquest Large battle and chose Assault as your class, you might set yourself up with the M416 with an ACOG Scope, Canted Iron Sights, Heavy barrel, Angled Grip and a grassy paint job. You might opt for a 44 Magnum with the 3X scope, the Medic bag, Defibrillator paddles, and camo that matches the map. However, your Assault loadout would be completely different for a map like Metro, so you would have to change it all when the map rotated.
TweakTown image dice_unveils_new_loadout_presets_for_battlefield_4
DICE knows what a pain the rear this can be, and today they announced a new feature that will ease some of the pain. Tomorrow a new Loadout Preset feature will be installed to Battlelog that will allow players to create and save up to two different preset slots per class with their favorite loadout mashups. Premium players will be able to save 4 slots per class, making this a very useful and appreciated feature for those of us who play hours of Battlefield every night.
"Going into battle prepared is key to succeeding in Battlefield 4. With the new Loadout Presets, we've made it easier for you to quickly hit the Battlefield with the exact kit and vehicle Loadout of your choice," DICE said in a blog post.
Preset Loadout's can be accessed and changed through Battlelog an on Mobile devices via the Battlelog app. Players need to simply head to the Presets Management page, accessible by clicking "Manage" from the Presets dropdown, you'll get an overview of all the Presets you have created. Here, you can browse through your Presets, delete them, or apply a bunch of them before you save your Loadout.

Avast: Smartphone owners are too careless about security
Smartphone users face a growing list of security problems, and many of them are simply ignoring the risks, according to a recent study completed by security company Avast.
TweakTown image avast_smartphone_owners_are_too_careless_about_security
Men are more likely than women to face vulnerabilities on their smartphones, 36 percent compared to 32 percent, with more than one-third surveyed saying they don't use any type of anti-theft or security software.
"The findings suggest an ongoing disconnect people have with their phone and computer when it comes to security protection," Avast said in a blog post. "Many smartphone users have not yet grown accustomed to thinking of their devices as small computers that store valuable, sensitive, and often priceless data. One can now perform the same functions on their phone as the trust PC or laptop, but the majority of people are still learning about the necessary to protect their phones from viruses and hacking."
The survey also found that users believe their passwords (79 percent), contacts (74 percent), emails (66 percent), photos/videos (57 percent), calls and text messages (50 percent) are most important.
Also, users tend to use their devices for voice calls, text messaging, browsing the Internet, email, and social media - with 80 percent of respondents saying they access the Internet via subscriber data plan, while 40 percent use public Wi-Fi access.

Netfabb's .STL file cloud repair service is now Microsoft Model Repair
3D printing enthusiast world wide have at some point used Netfabb's cloud service to repair .STL files that were not solid meshes and not manifold. Over the last few years the service's popularity has grew can that has caused the service to slow down quite a bit. On Friday Netfabb announced that it has partnered up with Microsoft to host the cloud service on Microsoft's Azure cloud computing platform.
TweakTown image netfabb_s_stl_file_cloud_repair_service_is_now_microsoft_model_repair
The new service is called Microsoft Model Repair, and uses Netfabb technology at its core to provide a more powerful and efficient mesh repairer that can scale as its popularity continues to grow. Instead of each model being issued a separate download key like before, Microsoft Model Repair uses your Microsoft Account credentials to securely store your fixed files. This greatly cuts down on the time it takes to get the file back to you after repair too, and users will notice a increase in speed with most repairs taking just seconds.
"We are extremely happy to announce the latest product of our partnership with Microsoft to enable seamless 3D Printing for the mass market. Our cloud service on cloud.netfabb.com has been serving the community for years with an easy to use and automatic solution to prepare all their files for 3D Printing," Netfabb said in a release... "We would further like to emphasize, that - in contrary to most other services on the web - neither Microsoft nor netfabb claims any copyright on your uploaded models or other connected content. We are a strong believer in the idea that this service shall take the pain out of 3D Printing, and we are extremely grateful about Microsoft sharing this vision."

The new Raspberry Pi is here and it's not what anyone expected
Its been more than two years since the first Raspberry Pi was shipped, and today the Raspberry Pi Foundation announced a new way to get your Pi on. The new Raspberry Pi Compute Module is based on the SO-DIMM form factor that is popular with DDR2 and DDR3 RAM in many modern laptops, but do not confuse that as being compatible with the SO-DIMM port on your laptop because it is not. The Raspberry Pi foundation says that this new form factor is designed to help makers embed their Raspberry Pi projects into final products.
TweakTown image the_new_raspberry_pi_is_here_and_it_s_not_what_anyone_expected
The new Raspberry Pi compute module features a Broadcom BCM2835 chip with 512MB RAM with an on board 4GB eMMC Flash memory for booting the OS. The overall footprint of the device is 65mm x 30mm and its 200 pin edge connector allows the full i/o and other pins from the BCM 2835 chip to be utilized instead of just 19 I/O like the original Raspberry Pi.
TweakTown image the_new_raspberry_pi_is_here_and_it_s_not_what_anyone_expected
Accompanying the Raspberry Pi Compute Module is the new Raspberry Pi Compute Motherboard that features a 200-pin SO-DIMM module socket that enables you to connect the Raspberry Pi Compute Module. This board features 45 GPIO Pins, as well as CAN buss connectors, SPI and I2C connectors. Placement for an optional JTAG header is on the board as is a Micro USB power port and a separate Micro USB data port. A USB 2.0 host is featured and an HDMI port handles the video and audio out duties. Additionally two DSI Display Connectors, and two CSI Camera Connectors are featured as well.
I would have liked to seen at least a 3.5mm audio out jack, and a few dedicated servo connectors on the board. A connection for a battery connection, or at least a power supply circuit that left its input pins un-populated would have been nice. I would have also like to have seen a new SoC on board with the ability to support up to 2GB of RAM, but for some reason, no one is listening to the community's cries. With that said, this new form factor is going to make for some interesting projects, and with support for dual cameras, I hope to see some 3D scanner projects begin to pop up.

Viper SmartKey uses your smartphone to lock or unlock doors
Viper is a company that has been making car alarms for years. It has announced a new device called the Viper SmartKey that makes keyless entry truly keyless. The SmartKey system creates a wireless perimeter around the car that responds to your smartphone without having to press any buttons or open an app.
TweakTown image viper_smartkey_uses_your_smartphone_to_lock_or_unlock_doors
You do need a Viper security or remote start system for the SmartKey to work. The company says SmartKey is compatible with all Viper alarm systems. The SmartKey system itself sells for $149.99. Once installed, the system will lock or unlock the doors without you having to do anything.
All you need to do is have the smartphone on you. SmartKey will unlock the car and turn on the alarm when you approach the car without you doing anything. When you walk away from the car, it will automatically lock and arm the alarm system.
SmartKey does require a smartphone app to work that is available for the iPhone. The app lets the user control the settings of the SmartKey system. I've always thought the modern SmartKeys that come with cars with pushbutton start should be able to lock and unlock the doors without the owner having to do anything.

Tesla Model S owner fiddles with car's network and gets warned to stop
An owner of a Tesla Model S was recently fiddling about with his car after discovering a hidden Ethernet port inside the vehicle. He cobbled together some sort of Ethernet cable and set about sniffing the car's network for fun.
TweakTown image tesla_model_s_owner_finds_hidden_ethernet_port_and_gets_warning_from_t
The owner found that the car has a 100 Mbps full duplex Ethernet network with three devices on it. The addresses on the network are in the 192.168.90.0 subnet and includes the center console, dashboard/nav screen and another unknown device.
He found that some of the ports and services were open and that Port 80 was being used to serve a webpage with the image or media for the current song being played. He also notes that the OS is a modified version of Ubuntu.
The interesting part is that the man says he received a call from a Tesla service center telling him that the Tesla USA engineer had seen a hacking attempt on his car. He told them he was the one messing around with the car and they warned him to stop to avoid voiding the car warranty. It's unclear how exactly they knew the car had been messed with. The man says that perhaps they saw his thread on a Tesla owner site where he was talking about what he found.

Amazon Dash makes ordering via AmazonFresh a snap
Amazon has been operating a grocery delivery service in parts of California and Washington for a while called AmazonFresh. This service allows people in those covered areas to order all sorts of grocery items and have the stuff delivered right to their home. You can order canned goods and fresh items like milk and eggs as well.
TweakTown image amazon_dash_makes_ordering_via_amazonfresh_a_snap
Amazon has now rolled out a companion gadget that will go along with AmazonFresh called the Amazon Dash. The Dash is a small handheld gadget that has a LED scanner integrated onto the end. That scanner can be activated to scan bar codes of items that need to be ordered from AmazonFresh.
If there is no barcode to scan, a voice search feature lets the user say what they need and Dash will find it. One of the coolest things about the Dash is that it is free for people that can get AmazonFresh deliveries.
Amazon does have to invite you to use the Dash though. That seems to imply that there are a limited amount of people who can get the device and limited numbers of the Dash may be available. I like the idea of the Dash and the AmazonFresh service and I hope they eventually roll Fresh out across the entire country.

Yahoo wants four original comedy shows for its streaming video push
Yahoo has made no secret of its desire to compete in the video streaming market. It tried to buy DailyMotion last year, but failed to close that deal. Rumors continue to circulate that Yahoo will launch its own video streaming platform. Whether it will buy an existing service or roll its own remains to be seen.
TweakTown image yahoo_wants_four_original_comedy_shows_for_its_streaming_video_push
Sources that claim to be familiar with the goings on at Yahoo are claiming that the company is looking to land four TV quality shows to help its streaming effort. According to this source, Yahoo wants a quartet of half hour comedy shows written and directed by people that have TV experience.
The budget for these programs is tipped to be in the range of $700,000 to a million dollars per episode. Each of the shows will have ten episodes making for a lot of money spent. There is no word at this time indicating if Yahoo is negotiating on specific shows.
It must have something in mind considering that CEO Marissa Mayer wants to show of the new content to advertisers at an event called NewFront on April 28. If she plans to show off the actual content, Yahoo must be close to making a deal on at least one show. Yahoo is tipped to be looking at the same sort of content that Netflix and Amazon are looking at.

Seagate ships Enterprise Capacity v4 6TB12Gb/s SAS HDD
Seagate has announced their newest Enterprise Capacity 3.5 HDD v4, which boasts 6TB of capacity. The Enterprise Capacity v4 sports a 25% increase in performance, and an incremental increase in power consumption. Seagate is outfitting the drive with the latest 12Gb/s SAS connection.

HGST utilized helium to work around the increased air resistance from more platters, but Seagate uses the novel approach of reducing the thickness of the base plate, and then adding a top disk separator plate to improve airflow. Coupling that with an additional inertia actuator to reduce coil size and enhanced rotational vibration tolerance and error correction, Seagate can spin 6TB at 7,200 RPM in normal air and deliver faster performance.
The net result? 25% faster, 50% more performance, and Seagate was able to go from 5 platters to 6. Seagate has a range of enterprise features baked into their new 6TB behemoth. SED and FIPS SED options are available, and T10 and T13-compliant power management features offer refined power consumption.
Of course, look to these pages soon for a full product evaluation.

This is the real deal. A complete, working, original Lazer-Tron Quake Arcade Tournament Edition game. Comes complete with the original Pentium II Quantum3D Quicksilver Arcade PC, prize redemption printer, keyboard, mouse, and manuals.
Legend has it that only twenty of these prototypes were manufactured. When the game was first introduced, Lazer-Tron was bought out and due to problems with the contracted programmer, the game was never further developed. This is one of the 20 prototypes! You will likely never again have an opportunity to purchase a game like this!
Game Info:
The classic PC shooting game has been adapted for tournament play in the arcade. This prototype features modified deathmatch levels and a special custom weapon. Machines may be linked to provide competitive play. The game is a direct conversion from the PC game, but with a few changes. The monsters may drop an occasional prize pack when killed. The machine contains a prize printer that would print out a special ticket reward, presumably much like a redemption machine. The game is powered by a complete Pentium PC inside the game. A keyboard and mouse can be found immediately below the control panel (not accessible by the player, however). The PC contains a Quantum 3D video card used to display the game's graphics. There are a number of settings that affect options not available in the original PC version of the game. At least two cabinets can be linked together for deathmatch competitions.

While researching this amazing find we managed to find another, 1 of 20 machines, this time with black trim instead of white. Both are priced near the $5000 mark and both in Texas. The images of each show they are not the same machine.
TweakTown image rare_quake_arcade_tournament_edition_on_ebay_1_of_20
A third source helped us sort out the details. While very few prototype systems were built, a number of conversion kits shipped to commercial arcade businesses. It appears the cabinet on EBay is the real deal and one of the rarest arcade games ever.
Many are not even aware of the existence of such a thing and many don't even believe there ever was a special edition of QUAKE specifically made for commercial Arcade play.
The game was housed in a full sized upright arcade cabinet with a 27" 640x480 VGA display screen and a custom Trackball controller setup with 7 separate action buttons. It ran on a custom PC known as the Quantum3D Quicksilver Arcade PC. While that may sound impressive, this was 1998 and in reality it was only a 266 MHz Pentium II running under Windows 95!! However, with its custom video card setup it was pretty high-end for the time... especially in an Arcade cabinet. The setup also contained a proprietary I/O card known as the Quantum3D Game Control Interface or GCI.
This game is noted (on KLOV and other lists) as being one of the RAREST Arcade games ever created. Hence, there is a large amount of people that believe this is some kind of hoax and that it NEVER existed, or that it never made it past the prototyping stage.
The rumour also claims that there were only 20 working cabinets ever manufactured. However, this appears to be completely false in that there are countless accounts of this game having been seen and played all over North America over the years. What this rumour does NOT take into account is that the game was actually marketed for the most part as a RETRO CONVERSION KIT for commercial arcade owners who already were in possession of useable cabinets and parts to complete a Quake Arcade Tournament Edition installation.
I believe the reason that the rumour began is that the Laser-Tron partnership (see posts on custom cabinet below) was in fact VERY SHORT LIVED. What many failed to realize though is that the Laser-Tron fully complete cabinet ($7,500 in 1998 dollars) was only 1 of 3 ways that the game was being marketed to arcade owners. Yes, the white Lazer-Tron cabinet is in fact very rare, but the game itself actually got out there, mainly as a retro conversion kit from LBE Systems & Opus Entertainment. However, given that we are now talking about 1998, it might as well have been a lifetime ago,.... and memories fade..... and cabinets and original parts end up crushed, in landfills, or gathering layers of dust in basements and storage units.
Taking an educated guess, I think that probably a couple hundred of these units (in CONVERSION KIT form) made it out across North America back in the day. So, YES it is STILL a very rare Arcade game... whether the real number is 20 or 200.

Highly collectible? Investment value? Too bad I don't have room for it.

Thermaltake Core V71 Full-Tower Chassis Review

Introduction, Specifications and Pricing

TweakTown image thermaltake_core_v71_full_tower_chassis_review
Thermaltake's cases seem to feature about an even mix of either designs based on older ideas and tooling or a very unique take on the idea of a chassis, or when the aesthetics are a little more subtle, Thermaltake does everything they can with that design to offer anything and everything an enthusiast would want in a chassis. Today, we are going to be discussing the latter with this design, as some of the more recent submissions were more or less tweaked ideas with older chassis components as the base of the design.
As we look into this latest chassis, we find that in no way is this an average submission. Thermaltake has taken the whole idea of a full-tower chassis, stripped it down to the base panels of the frame, and reworked just about every panel and component that is offered inside of this chassis. Optical bays, storage racks, chassis modularity, and an aesthetic that most companies tend to stay away from can all be found in this latest submission. On top of that, the chassis is very well appointed, and in the factory, they take the time to pre-wire the chassis, as well as offering all the bits and pieces needed to add PC components into this chassis and do just about whatever you want inside.
It has been quite a long time--like since the Level 10 days--since we have been this excited about a Thermaltake chassis. Don't take that the wrong way as we did like a lot of their designs; however, once everything unfolds in front of you of what this chassis is capable of, it is really tough not to be excited about the new angles we are seeing manufacturers take with chassis design in just the last few months.
At this point, find a beverage and get comfortable. We have a lot to show you, and after, it will be very easy to see why the Thermaltake Core V71 EATX full-tower chassis is a serious contender for one of the best designs of the year.
TweakTown image thermaltake_core_v71_full_tower_chassis_review
The Core V71 is made mostly of steel that has been painted black throughout, but it also has some components made of ABS plastic. What is aesthetically special about this chassis is that the front bezel and the top of the chassis are both completely covered with steel mesh with tiny round holes as the pattern. The left side of the chassis offers a very large, almost full panel, window, and it is from this side that you can see the extended top added on to this full-tower chassis. Around the back, there are eight expansion slots and a bottom mounted PSU, and the right side of the chassis is a solid steel panel, but it has a large bumped out section to allow for more wiring. Inside of the chassis, there are two 5.25-inch bays; eight drive trays plus two hidden locations for storage; and a motherboard tray that offers grommets and good wire management options, in addition to allowing Micro-ATX, ATX, and Extended-ATX motherboards to be installed.
The cooling inside of this chassis as well as the drive mounting modularity is where this chassis really excels. The chassis shows up with a pair of blue LED 200mm fans in the front of the chassis, as well as another blue LED 200mm fan in the top of the chassis. There is one other fan sent inside of this chassis, and that is the 140mm Turbo fan used in the back as an exhaust. Since the design allows for it, once the storage drive racks and the lower optical drive bay are removed, things get interesting for water cooling. The front will now be able to house up to a 360mm (3 x 120), a 280mm (2 x 140), or even a 400mm (2 x 200) radiator there, and the top of the chassis offers the same options as the front does. The rear of the chassis can hold either a single 120mm or 140mm radiator, and depending on the PSU choice, the floor offers room for a single or dual 120mm radiator.
What is noticeable as we look around at pricing and availability is that we can locate the Core V71 just about everywhere we tried, but pricing is a touch higher than most full-towers that buyers gravitate to. New tooling, research and development, and designing new packaging all have really high costs related to them, and to be honest, it does not seem like they are trying to stab your wallet trying to make that up on each chassis; this pricing says to us that they plan to sell quite a few of these and make just a few dollars here and there to recoup those costs. With what we have had the chance to see already, we do feel that while buyers may get a bit of sticker shock, this chassis is well worth the investment.
PRICING: You can find the Thermaltake Core V71 for sale below. The prices listed are valid at the time of writing but can change at any time. Click the link to see the very latest pricing for the best deal.
United States: The Thermaltake Core V71 retails for $151.44 at Amazon.
