Cosmos: The Universe Gets a Much-Needed Reboot
It's a rare day when we spotlight a television series, but this is no mere series. Cosmos was a phenomenon when first released in the 80's with Carl Sagan and the reboot with Neil deGrasse Tyson looks to prove it is up to the task to follow and surpass the original. The series is a science geek's paradise, touching on aspects of quantum physics as well as the origins of life and space travel.

Titanfall DLC Plans Now Revealed
Respawn has released some additional information on the upcoming Titanfall Season Pass and the three DLC content packs that will be included.

The Titanfall content packs will of course contain new maps, but while Respawn knows that the packs will contain additional content, it is not yet known what additional content will make up the release.

"Introduction to Linux" Course Will be Free and Online This Summer
Have you ever felt left out because you never actually took the time to 'really learn' Linux or simply didn't have the money for a formal class? Well this summer you have run out of excuses why you aren't certified.

This introductory class, which usually costs $2,400, will be the first from the Linux Foundation to run as a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC). There is no limit on enrollment through edX's platform.

ASUS' Pint-Sized Chromebox Ships Next Week
If you have already pre-ordered the ASUS Chromebox or were going to wait until it was being shipped, your wait is over. ASUS has made it known that the computer will begin to ship next Friday.

A base system starts out modestly with a 1.4GHz Celeron and 2GB of RAM, although you can splurge for a Core i3 model.

Blood Test That Can Predict Death Within Five Years
If you could, would you want to know if you were going to die within the next five years or not? Scientists in Finland and Estonia have developed a test that identifies biomarkers in blood which indicate factors of serious diseases that could kill within five years.

Four biomarkers — albumin, alpha-1-acid glycoprotein, citrate and the size of low-density lipoprotein particles — indicated an overall weakness of the body.

Valve is Releasing a Competitive Portal Board Game
A cooperative effort between Valve and board game maker Cryptozoic has produced a game titled Portal: Uncooperative Cake Acquisition Game that is scheduled to be released sometime in Q4.

It will be the first board game developed and released by Valve, and that combination of Valve and Portal might give it legs to sell well enough to nudge Valve along the non-digital gaming path.

Massachusetts Will Make Upskirting Illegal After All
After a false start on the ruling of Upskirting by the Massachusetts Supreme Court, the State Legislators took up the challenge and made the practice illegal, with a maximum fine of $10K and five years in jail.

The new law penalizes anyone who "photographs, videotapes or electronically surveils" another person's sexual or intimate parts without that person's consent.

The Ouya Is Basically Dead
In what started out as a too-good-to-be-true Kickstarter funded program back in 2012, the Ouya video game console is looking more and more like it was exactly that.

Well, early reviews for the system were far from stellar, and game developers reported that for all their effort, it was pretty much impossible to make any money.

FAA Appeals Commercial Drone Ruling
The ruling this week making the use of small, hobby-plane-sized commercial drones legal didn't sit too well with the FAA and as expected, the FAA has filed an appeal on the decision from the NTSB.

The FAA wasn't expected to make any rules for commercial drone usage before the end of 2015. Maybe all this activity around this court case now will get it to speed up the process a bit.

Ubisoft's Watch Dogs Release Date Set
Ubisoft announced this week Watch Dogs will be released in late May. The initial release will cover PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One platforms, with Wii U coming at a later date.

Microsoft is just plumb full of leaks with the official releases of several top drawer projects just around the corner. Along with the update to Windows 8.1, Internet Explorer 11 Enterprise has also made its way into the public domain.

Tt does introduce the "Enterprise mode" that allows corporations to view legacy applications with the browser without having to worry about compatibility issues.
