ASUS SABERTOOTH Z87 Motherboard
If you like your motherboards armor plated and ready for battle, check out this review of the ASUS SABERTOOTH Z87 motherboard posted at OCWorkbench today.
Traditional motherboards are highly exposed to heat and dust when enclosed within a casing. The dust that gathered increases possible static on the pins and create issues to the exposed areas. With the ASUS TUF series motherboard the SABERTOOTH Z87, all this can be prevented. With the TUF Fortifier, it adds a strong backplate to prevent bending damage and helps to cool the underlying VRM and key components underneath the PCB.

NASA Trying To Build A Warp Drive?
Talking about a warp drive is fun and all but, when you don't even know how you would turn it off and on, you might still have a few kinks to work out.
Dr. White believes that advances he and others have made render warp speed less implausible. Among other things, he has redesigned the theoretical warp-traveling spacecraft and in particular a ring around it that is key to its propulsion system in a way that he believes will greatly reduce the energy requirements.

A Faster Internet - Designed By Computers?
Researchers from MIT's Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory claim to have developed computer designed algorithms that significantly outperformed algorithms devised by human engineers.
In tests that simulated a high-speed, wired network with consistent transmission rates across physical links, Remy's algorithms roughly doubled network throughput when compared to Compound TCP and TCP Cubic, while reducing delay by two-thirds. In another set of tests, which simulated Verizon's cellular data network, the gains were smaller but still significant: a 20 to 30 percent improvement in throughput, and a 25 to 40 percent reduction in delay.

Maybe Netflix's CFO Will Pick His Nose
The headline of the day is brought to you by this article about Netflix's decision to video-stream its earnings call.
If you've ever actually listened to a corporate earnings call, you know that there is no intrinsically logical reason anyone would want to watch a corporate earnings call. Which brings us to the only plausible reason I can imagine looking forward to watching an earnings call: Maybe something embarrassing and horrible will go down! It does happen.

Google Placing Ads Directly In Gmail Inboxes
While the prospect of ads in your inbox kinda sucks, at least these ads are going straight into the "promotions" folder.
The company has shown ads alongside Gmail messages for years, but these ads appear as messages that can be opened like e-mails and forwarded to others, according to Gmail users who started seeing them last week. They appear only in the new "promotions" tab of Gmail's new multi-tab interface, and they're marked with a pale yellow background and labeled "ad," similar to how Google treats some search ads that appear above or to the right of search results.
