(PR) NVIDIA Reports Financial Results For Annual and Fourth Quarter Fiscal 2013 NVIDIA (NASDAQ: NVDA) today reported revenue for fiscal 2013 ended Jan. 27, 2013, of a record $4.28 billion, up 7.1 percent from $4.00 billion in fiscal 2012. GAAP earnings per share for the year were $0.90 per diluted share, a decrease of 4.3 percent from $0.94 in fiscal 2012. Non-GAAP earnings per diluted share were $1.17, down 1.7 percent from $1.19 in fiscal 2012. During the quarter, NVIDIA repurchased $100.0 million of stock and paid a dividend of $0.075 per share, equivalent to $46.9 million. "This year we did the best work in our company's history," said Jen-Hsun Huang, president and chief executive officer of NVIDIA. "We achieved record revenues, margins and cash, despite significant market headwinds.

(PR) Micron Introduces Industry's Smallest 128-Gigabit NAND Flash Device Micron Technology, Inc. today introduced the industry's smallest 128-gigabit (Gb) NAND flash memory device utilizing its award-winning 20-nanometer (nm) process technology. The new 128Gb device stores three bits of information per cell, called triple-level-cell (TLC), creating a highly compact storage solution. Measuring 146 mm², the new 128Gb TLC device is more than 25 percent smaller than the same capacity of Micron's 20 nm multi-level-cell (MLC) NAND device. The 128 Gb TLC device is targeted at the cost-competitive removable storage market (flash cards and USB drives), which is projected to consume 35 percent of total NAND gigabytes in calendar 2013.1 Micron is now sampling the 128Gb TLC NAND device with select customers; it will be in production in calendar Q2. MSI Outs GeForce GTX 680 Lightning-L Graphics Card MSI released a slightly slower yet cheaper variant of its GeForce GTX 680 Lightning graphics card, the GTX 680 Lightning-L, in Japan. Identical in every way possible to the original launched back in June 2012, the card features clock speeds of 1019 MHz core, 1084 MHz GPU Boost, and 6008 MHz memory, against the original's 1110 MHz core, 1176 MHz GPU Boost, and 6008 MHz memory; and NVIDIA-reference clock speeds of 1006 MHz core, 1058 MHz GPU Boost, and 6008 MHz memory. Since the components on the card haven't changed, MSI may have created quite some OC headroom for enthusiasts munch on, with their own skills. It remains to be seen if the GTX 680 Lightning-L makes it to other markets.

Gigabyte Intros E350N WIN8 Mini-ITX Motherboard Gigabyte rolled out a new mini-ITX motherboard based on the AMD E350 "Zacate" APU, for entry-level PC and home-server builds, the E350N-WIN8. As the name might suggest, the board is designed to run Windows 8 with its entire feature set, including Fast Boot. It does that by replacing legacy AwardBIOS on older variants, with modern AMI UEFI, backed by Gigabyte's Dual-UEFI redundant BIOS technology that protects against failed BIOS updates. The E350N WIN8 uses a fairly big (SFF-safe) fan-heatsink to cool the APU, while a tiny heatsink cools its companion A45 FCH chipset. The AMD E350 packs two x86-64 cores clocked at 1.60 GHz, with a maximum memory support of 16 GB, and AMD Radeon HD 6310D DirectX 11 graphics that rides on 80 stream processors. The APU is wired to two standard-size 240-pin DIMM slots. The lone expansion slot, sadly, is a legacy PCI. The board draws power from a combination of 24-pin and 4-pin ATX connectors. Connectivity includes four SATA 3 Gb/s ports, eight USB 2.0/1.1 ports (four on the rear panel, four by headers), serial RS232 (COM) and parallel (LPT) ports, PS/2 mouse and keyboard connectors, and display outputs that include D-Sub (VGA) and HDMI (with 7.1-channel digital HD audio). Expect a sub-$100 price point.

Green House Announces PicoDrive J3 Line of USB 3.0 Flash Drives Japanese peripherals maker Green House rolled out the PicoDrive J3 line of USB 3.0 flash drives. Available in 8 GB (GH-UFD3-8GJ), 16 GB (GH-UFD3-16GJ), 32 GB (GH-UFD3-32GJ), 64 GB (GH-UFD3-64GJ), and 128 GB (GH-UFD3-128GJ) capacities, the drives are built in the slider form-factor, with a retractable USB connector. The drives are said to utilize a dual-channel MLC NAND architecture, which delivers read speeds of up to 150 MB/s, and write speeds of up to 36 MB/s (128 GB and 64 GB), or 22 MB/s (32 GB), or 11 MB/s (8 GB and 16 GB). Measuring 59.5 x 21.6 x 10.0 mm (WxDxH), the drives weigh about 15 g. They will be released to the markets in Q2-2013.
