ASUS P8Z77-I Deluxe Mini-ITX Motherboard
How does a mini-ITX motherboard like the ASUS P8Z77-I Deluxe earn an Editor's Choice Award from us? I'll give you a hint, it starts with "4.85Ghz" and ends with "overclock."
Certainly small form factor motherboards don't ordinarily get too much attention here at HardOCP. That changed in a "big" way when we were introduced to the ASUS Mini-ITX P8Z77-I Deluxe. The P8Z77-I Deluxe did more than just impress, it proves that not all enthusiast rigs needed to be hulking towers of steel and aluminum.

Donate Your Old Hardware To Help Needy Children
The Philadelphia Children's Foundation has a new program called Computers in Hand that gives donated computers to needy school children. Do you have old computers, laptops or parts lying around? Why not throw them in a box and send it to send it to these guys? You'll feel better and the donation is tax deductible.
We are in constant need of things like monitors, mice, keyboards, pretty much anything that your average PC enthusiast has laying around collecting dust. We accept any working laptop or non-working desktop with a P4 processor or better, the non-working systems are parceled out for parts or sold to a local scrapyard, any working peripherals, ram, hard drives, etc., and of course monetary donations so we can continue to afford refurbisher XP licenses.
The cause is a very worthy one, it's a registered 501(c)(3) charity so any donations are tax deductible, and the people there are pretty much the best you'll meet. Currently our demand far exceeds our supply, and we've got a waitlist of people trying to get computers for their kids.

Google's Marissa Mayer Named Yahoo CEO
I am sure I'm not alone in thinking this is probably not the best career move. Then again, she might just be in it for the big pay day. We all know what the hustle at Yahoo is...get CEO position, get fired/ousted months later and walk with millions in severance pay. WIN!
Mayer, who starts at Yahoo Inc. on Tuesday, was one of Google's earliest employees and was most recently responsible for its mapping, local and location services. Mayer, 37, began her career at Google in 1999 after getting her master's degree at Stanford, the school Google's co-founders attended.

Thermaltake Frio Advanced Heatsink
The FrostyTech crew didn't seem too thrilled with the Thermaltake Frio Advanced heatpipe HSF. According to the review, the heatsink performed fairly well but it was a bit too loud for their liking.
Heatpipes that make direct contact with the integrated heatspreader of the processor minimize thermal resistance as heat energy is conducted directly to the heatpipes, rather than via an intermediary heatspreader. The five 6mm diameter heatpipes then thread up through 40 or so aluminum cooling fins where heat is dissipated into the surrounding air mass. In principle, it's an efficient way to build a heatsink.
