Wikileaks Leaks Unedited Diplomatic Cables, Exposes Sources
It looks as though Wikileaks can't be trusted with sensitive information. If I were an informant or an overseas source or contact for the U.S., I'd be pretty damn worried right about now.
When the diplomatic cables were originally released, many names had been redacted to protect people who were in hostile situations. In several cases entire files were withheld. Now that the cables have been released in their entirety those confidential sources are in jeopardy.

Tech FAIL of the Day
This has to be the dumbest idea I have seen all day. Converting text messages into freaky videos? Yeah, I think I'll pass.
From the Are You Kidding Me files today comes VizLingo, a New York-based company that takes the words you type and creates quick-cut videos out of them. You type in, "I want to buy some cheese," and you get a five-second video of the concepts, "I," "want," and so on. Go see what I mean.

SAPPHIRE TOXIC HD6950 Video Card
What's that you say? You want the fastest Radeon HD 6950 on the market for the same price as a standard 6950...AND you want a couple free games? Normally we'd say you were crazy but that was before we posted our evaluation of the SAPPHIRE TOXIC HD6950 video card.

Anonymous Helps Time Warner's Bottom Line
Anonymous helping Time Warner make more money? Hahahaha, now that is pretty damn funny.
Indeed, with the help of Anonymous, the mask has become one of the most popular disguises and — in a small way — has added to the $28 billion in revenue Time Warner accumulated last year. It is the top-selling mask on Amazon.com, beating out masks of Batman, Harry Potter and Darth Vader.

NZXT Sentry Mix Fan Controller
I have to admit, I like the way the NZXT Sentry Mix fan controller looks like sliders you'd find on an equalizer or soundboard. Head on over to Overclockers Club for the full review.
The sliders on the Sentry Mix have a full range of motion from top to bottom and are attached to linear potentiometers. Power is supplied to the fan controller by two standard 4-pin Molex connectors, a sure sign that 50 Watts per channel is not simply a facetious boast. Each channel has its own detachable cable should removal be necessary to facilitate case cleanliness.

Chinese General's Spy Talk Leaked Onto YouTube
Hey, make sure you record this conversation where I talk about hugely embarrassing stuff about spying so it can be leaked to YouTube later.
Footage of a Chinese general discussing sensitive spying cases has been leaked onto Google Inc.'s video sharing site YouTube, in what appears to be an embarrassing failure of secrecy for the usually tightlipped military.

Steve Jobs Picture Photoshopped?
The controversy of the day? Some people are claiming that TMZ ran a picture of Steve Jobs that was photoshopped to make him look sicker than he actually is. Who cares about that? The real concern here is that thing he is wearing and why is that guy holding him like that!?!?!

Sentey Burton GS-6500 Case
The crew at Computing on Demand has the Sentey Burton GS-6500 case strapped to the test bench today for a little review action. You gotta love this quote:
The sides of the chassis are nothing to call home about. They do feature release buttons, so you can easily remove them, but one side panel has this growth like ventilation thing on the side that makes me feel like the Burton needs some radiation therapy.

GameStop Giving Out $50 Gift Card Over Deux Ex Fiasco
For anyone that bought a retail copy of Deux Ex: Human Revolution from GameStop, the company is supposedly giving out $50 gift cards to make up for stripping the OnLive coupons from the game.
GameStop is offering a "$50 GameStop gift card and a Buy 2 Get 1 Free pre-owned purchase" offer to those who bought the standard PC version of Deus Ex: Human Revolution from the mega retailer. After what the company pulled over the past few days, including the OnLive coupons from PC boxes of Deus Ex: Human Revolution and eventually the entire game itself, we hope it's not pulling our leg now, too.

Eric Schmidt Says G+ Is An Identity Service
Eric Schmidt, speaking at the Edinburgh International TV Festival, decided to add to the long list of creepy ass things he has stated in public.
I asked him how Google justifies the policy given that real identities could put people at risk. He replied by saying that G+ was build primarily as an identity service, so fundamentally, it depends on people using their real names if they're going to build future products that leverage that information. Regarding people who are concerned about their safety, he said G+ is completely optional. No one is forcing you to use it.
