LulzSec disbands after '50 Days of Lulz'
Following nearly 2 months of worldwide security mayhem which begun with the breach and temporary (but painfully long) closure of of Sony's PlayStation network, the hacker group responsible, "LulzSec" has indicated that it finally plans to withdraw its aggressive hacking antics and disband.

LulzSec disbands after '50 Days of Lulz'
This group has certainly made quite a shattering impact in performing several high-profile security breaches and DoS attacks against the likes of Sony as mentioned, Nintendo and even the US Senate and FBI. Their hacking adventures have resulted in company costs well into the 10s of millions.

Having done wonders for their own egos and making sure they don't push it too far by ending up in a court room, it appears their intensive hacking spree has ended, with the announcement "After 50 days of mayhem, the LulzSec boat has apparently sailed its final hacking voyage" accompanied by a torrent named '50 Days of Lulz' posted on Pirate Bay; the contents of which had a mass of sensitive information including 550,000+ user details for the Battlefield Heroes Beta which were apparently provided ''to selflessly entertain others'. That torrent has now been removed from the site.

45.Again, behind the mask, behind the insanity and mayhem, we truly believe in the AntiSec movement. We believe in it so strongly that we brought it back, much to the dismay of those looking for more anarchic lulz. We hope, wish, even beg, that the movement manifests itself into a revolution that can continue on without us. The support we've gathered for it in such a short space of time is truly overwhelming, and not to mention humbling. Please don't stop. Together, united, we can stomp down our common oppressors and imbue ourselves with the power and freedom we deserve.
For the full statement, click here.

Whoever the masterminds are behind these events, they clearly have a hell of a lot of talent in the field and I highly doubt such talent would be kept dormant for too long. Having said that, I don't think we've heard the last from this elitest hacking group, at least not from certain entities within.

ASRock follow suit with a lead on AMD's APU Revolution
Alongside the likes of ASUS, MSI and ECS, ASRock have also launched their first Llano optimized A75 chipset motherboards ahead of the official APU launch in just a few days.

The particular boards ASRock have first let out the gate include their top-of-the-line option in the A75 Extreme6, as well as the A75 Pro4 (also a full ATX sized board) and three mATX boards in the A75 Pro4-M, A75M and A75M-HVS.

ASRock follow suit with a lead on AMD's APU Revolution
All boards of course carry support for FM1 APUs, have two or four DDR3-1866 RAM slots, and between five and eight SATA 6.0 Gbps ports depending on the board. All boards carry four USB 3.0 ports (boasting ASRock's XFast USB technology) with the exception of the Extreme6 which has six ports. Both D-Sub and HDMI outputs are resident on all models.

ASRock follow suit with a lead on AMD's APU Revolution
The premium A75 Extreme6 model sports an 8+1 phase power design along with three PCI-E x16 slots for a x8/x8/x4 configuration. In comparison, the A75 Pro4 and A75 Pro4 models have a 4+1 phase power setup with two PCI-E x16 slots (x16/x4). Support for both CrossFireX and Dual Graphics (the pairing of the APU's IGP with a discrete card) is also intact.

ASRock plans to have these boards hitting shelves by the end of next week to ensure availability for when the A-Series desktop CPUs from AMD hit town.

Prolimatech's Megahalems is back in black
Prolimatach have proven several times over that they know what their doing when it comes to designing a solid air cooling solution for your hot headed CPU, with the Megahalems being worthy of sitting atop their pedestal.

With that said, the design principals behind the Megahalems have aged a little now versus what else is on the market; but rather than let this iconic name die off, they've given Megahalems a new lease of life by re-working the base design, making a few tweaks here and there and kicking it out as a new Megahalems "Black Series" edition, which as the name suggests, means you get a sexy new breed of this high end cooler in black coated attire.

Prolimatech's Megahalems is back in black
While measuring in the same as the original at 130 x 158.7 x 74 mm (LxWxH) and with the same six nickel-plated copper heat pipes passing through the base, the new model sports a grainy black coating which increases surface area (vs the polished glossy type) and wider compatibility for all current as well as pre-gen AMD/Intel platforms. You also have the option of strapping one or two 120mm or 140mm fans of your choosing on the beast that is the new Megahalems Black Series.

Prolimatech's Megahalems is back in black
The cooler is now listed over at Caseking.de for €54.90 and shipments are said to start as of this coming Friday.

PCI-SIG reveals plans for external PCIe cable standard
The PCI Special Interest Group have revealed they are working on an external PCI Express standard to compete against eSATA, USB 3.0 and Intel's Thunderbolt interconnect. The new standard would be based on PCIe 3.0 tech which offers a potential of up to 32Gbps. Whereas, Thunderbolt offers up to 10Gbps in transfer speeds, but keep in mind Intel say it can scale up to 100Gbps in the future.

PCI-SIG reveals plans for external PCIe cable standard
With those lightning speeds, USB3.0 seems to be left shaking in fear in the dark. The proposal of PCI Express 3.0 suggests using copper wires with a maximum transfer distance of 3 meters and the ability to support up to 20W of power delivery. That's double the current capabilities of Thunderbolt which offers 10W. This would mean it has enough power to run external HDDs and other power-related items without the need for a separate power source.

PCIe cables will be faster, cheaper and thinner than current Thunderbolt-based cables. But they will be less functional in the way that Thunderbolt is capable of daisy-chaining and carry DisplayPort data while external PCI Express cannot. The new proposed technology is obviously still in early stages and won't be commercialized until mid-2013.

Crucial m4 128GB SATA 6G Solid State Drive Review
Crucial m4 128GB SATA 6G Solid State Drive Review
Introduction

At this point we've seen all of the larger, 256GB based SSDs and it's now time to start looking at the 128GB range. The 120GB - 128GB capacity size is important for manufacturers and consumers since this is the size that most of you are looking to purchase. The 128GB drives are very affordable this year, quite a bit less than the 2010 crop of drives and offer an amazing amount of performance.

Last year Crucial was the only major SSD manufacturer to offer a SATA III (6Gb) SSD, the RealSSD C300. When the C300 was first launched you only had two options to get the most out of the drive; use an expensive RAID controller capable of SATA 6G speeds or use a motherboard with a Marvell SATA 6G controller. Looking back, the Marvell SATA 6G chip was terrible and plagued with several problems at launch. Over time the SATA bridge chip became better, but even after several updates the X58 / Marvell combination still can't deliver the same performance as a native chipset solution.

Here we are halfway through 2011 and SATA 6G is all over the place. Companies like GIGABYTE and ASUS are rolling out motherboards with native SATA 6G on all of their new Intel and AMD products. If you're buying a new system or building your own, It's safe to say you'll have a high speed SATA 6G port ready for products like the Crucial m4.

Let's dive right in and take a look at the specifications listed by Crucial on their m4 128GB and then see just how fast this drive really is.

Child of Eden Xbox 360 Review
Child of Eden Xbox 360 Review
One of the most loved games on the PS2 and Dreamcast system was Rez. Re-released recently on Xbox Live arcade, Rez was one of the first games to try and combine the rhythm of music with the interactivity of gaming and it became a massive commercial hit. For years gamers have clamoured for Mizuguchi to create a sequel to Rez, but he never has. Possibly because the system it was born on, the Dreamcast, was not a successful console.

However, almost a decade later he is back with Child of Eden and just like Rez, it brings to the table an incredibly unique experience that is almost difficult to call a game in the true sense of the word. Child of Eden has you as the player trying to rescue a young girl named Lumi, trapped inside the internet sometime in the future. You do this by taking out virus materials within the systems of the game and that's about it. Child of Eden is not a game that has a strong storyline, but as you will discover as you play it, the focus is on other areas.

Child of Eden has two ways of playing; either with a traditional controller or for those who you have it, the Kinect sensor for Xbox 360. Although most of the game remains the same whichever control system you choose to use, there are some slight changes which are apparent. One thing we can say is that the game is nowhere near as enjoyable with a traditional controller.

Child of Eden Xbox 360 Review
First of all, the game is a lot more difficult with a controller. Mizuguchi has given some leeway when it comes to the Kinect controls and thus the game is easier. That is not necessarily a problem, but the difficulty is strikingly increased with a controller. As well as this, certain visual indicators do not appear on the screen when using a controller such as 'well done' and 'perfect'. We are puzzled as to why they do not appear on the screen when using a controller.

When using the Kinect sensor, the game feels a lot more enjoyable. This comes from the motion of your body as your move your arms to take out the enemies; it can feel like you are gliding with the tune of the music. Also, the key way to gain lots of points quickly in Child of Eden is to 'queue up' enemies to take them all out at once. With a controller this is harder to achieve, where as with the Kinect it seems natural.

The thing is that in many ways Child of Eden is not a game. There are only a few key points in each level where an enemy will produce a bullet and fire it at you, with most of the time you only being tasked with taking out the enemies on screen and not being punished for not doing so. If you are very good at the game, it's possible to go through lengthy sections without any bullets thrown towards you. Many enemies if taken out quickly do not produce fire. This is both a benefit and problem with the game. You will at times wonder where the 'game' element is.

There are also some problems in the design of the game that can lead to a frustrating time, especially for the casual player. At certain points in the game you will hit sections which significantly increase the difficulty all of a sudden and without warning.

Child of Eden Xbox 360 Review
It is highly unlikely you will finish each planet the first time around as the game mixes it up so much and learning the traits of each level is important.

However, if you do succumb to the enemy attacks, you have to start the entire planet all over again and considering the length of the planets, that is incredibly frustrating. Numerous times we got to the final boss only to lose and have to play through the entire planet again. This type of game design belongs in the 1990s along with not being able to see enemy attacks which are off screen as you don't happen to be looking at them.

Child of Eden contains five planets and each planet's mission takes about ten minutes to complete. On paper that means you could finish the game in under an hour, but in reality this is not the case. Each planet requires a number of stars to unlock and those stars are gained based on how well you do on the previously unlocked planets.

We had to play through some planets many times before being able to progress, but with that said, you should easily have finished the game within about three hours. This is not a game you finish and don't go back to, it's a game you play every so often for something different. However, for a full priced game the length is a bit of a problem.

As you would expect with a Mizugchi game, the graphics are very futuristic and vibrant and form a major part of the game. Each of the planets has a very unique visual style and through each mission that style changes many times. There are times, especially with the Kinect sensor, where you are interacting directly with the background of the game as well as the foreground and it seems that you can affect the world the game takes place in, via many ways.

Child of Eden Xbox 360 Review
On the music side of things, Mizuguchi has again gone for a techno style dance soundtrack and it suits the game well. The enemy sounds fit in with the soundtrack, just like Rez, and overall the soundtrack is impressive which given the style of the game, it had to be.

Child of Eden is the successor to Rez in everything but name. It really does feel like an updated, high definition version of Rez which also happens to use a very impressive motion controller. Child of Eden is one of the best implementations of Kinect that we have seen, but it's not without its problems in terms of length and whether certain sections of the game could be too boring for its own good.

If you have a Kinect, you should play Child of Eden, but for those only touting a controller, either buy a Kinect and play the game the way it was designed to be, or take a pass on this one.

Digital control differs from analog controls by eliminating digital-to-analog conversion lag, which helps to improve overclocking capabilities. This enables precise power flow adjustment and management as well as easy and flexible tuning, including extra DRAM power control for the AMD platform. System stability is also more efficient thanks to a smart thermal function, which includes phased temperature controls. For full system control, all features are accessible either by UEFI BIOS or AI Suite II. This all-in-one software offers diverse and easy-to-use functions, without the need to switch back and forth between different utilities while in Windows.
