The audio gurus at Altec Lansing are now preparing the release of a new 2.1 speaker system, an entry-level model called BXR1321 which is claimed to have an elegant design and is supposed to deliver top-quality sound for PCs, netbooks and portable media players.

Sony Europe has this week announced a little something for people who'd want to immerse themselves in surround sound but don't have the space for a speaker system, a pair of wireless headphones which uses the Virtualphones technology to deliver a a 7.1 channel experience.

New Toshiba laptop can display 3D and 2D simultaneously, comes in July

Intel continues its winning streak, reports record Q1 revenue

After letting us boil for six week, Lenovo has now made available for purchase both the ThinkPad X220 laptop and the ThinkPad X220 Tablet (convertible tablet to be exact). These machines are based on Intel's Huron River platform and are equipped with a sexy 12.5-inch (1366 x 768) IPS display.

Seagate to acquire Samsung's HDD unit, 'strategic alignment' planned
Seagate Technology and Samsung Electronics have just announced the signing of a major deal which will see them collaborate on multiple storage-related fronts. One major part of the deal will be Seagate's acquisition of Samsung's hard drive business for about $1.375 billion (50% cash / 50% stock).

Asus' U31E and U31SD Sandy Bridge laptops get detailed
More Sandy Bridge for on-the-go is coming from Asus in the form of the new U31E and U31SD, two light but not ultra-thin (2.85 cm) laptops which boast a 13.3-inch (1366 x 768) display and promise to deliver all-day computing - which actually means up to 10 hours of operation per battery charge.
