Futuremark announces PCMark 7, a benchmark for Windows 7 systems
Having already updated its uber-popular 3DMark series, Futuremark is now preparing a new release in its PCMark line, namely PCMark 7, a benchmark focused on testing various capabilities of systems running Microsoft's Windows 7 operating system.

Samsung Galaxy S2 Mini smartphone exposed, packs 1.4 GHz processor
UK carrier Three has been a little careless with its release plans and as a result the world has been 'warned' about the upcoming arrival of a new Samsung Galaxy series smartphone, a 'high end' model called Galaxy S2 Mini which runs Android 2.3.

The 2011 update of Dell and Alienware's M11x laptop is apparently upon us as a report claims that a new version of the 11.6-inch mobile machine will be introduced early next month, boasting a nice and shiny Huron River skeleton and a red or black casing.

Gateway rolls out a trio of AMD Fusion-powered laptops
Gateway has also embraced AMD's first Fusion platform (Brazos) and released three laptops based on it, all three part of the NV Series and all featuring a 15.6-inch (1366 x 768) LED-backlit display, a dual-core APU (accelerated processing unit) and running Windows 7 Home Premium.

French firm Archos is planning to update its tablet this summer, with June (think Computex) being the month revealed for the release of its Gen 9 models. The upcoming devices run Android, feature a 'new' 3G modem, a slimmer, lighter construction, and up to a 250GB hard drive or 32GB SSD.

Hong Kong-based add-in board maker AFOX has recently released a special Radeon HD 6850 which, although features stock clocks, stands out thanks to its single-slot design and lack of an additional power connector (most 6850s have a 6-pin PCIe plug).

Sony said to be readying VAIO ultra-thin laptop boasting Intel Thunderbolt tech
PlayStation promoter Sony is reportedly working on its first laptop to feature Intel's Thunderbolt (codename Light Peak) technology which is already available on Apple's latest MacBook Pro models. Sony's product will bear the VAIO brand and be paired up with a multi-purpose dock.

AT&T to acquire T-Mobile USA through $39 billion deal, if regulators approve
The US carrier landscape is set for a major overhaul as AT&T announced the signing of an agreement to acquire T-Mobile USA from Deutsche Telekom through a cash-and-stock transaction valued at $39 billion.
