Foxconn's NT-535 nettop uses Broadcom chip for 1080p video playback
Foxconn today revealed the NT-535, a slim nettop barebone which is capable of 1080p video playback thanks not to an Nvidia ION chip but due to a Broadcom BCM70015 co-processor (backed by a Chrontel CH7036 chip).

Dell Inspiron R laptops deliver the Sandy Bridge promise, have switchable lids
Following the release of the new Latitude E-series targeting enterprise users, Dell is today rolling out (in the US for starters), a trio of laptops for 'regular' users, the 14-inch Inspiron 14R, the 15.6-inch 15R and the 17.3-inch 17R.

Opera Software has today made available the first public beta version of its next desktop browser which is codenamed Barracuda and officially named Opera 11.10. This new version comes with various interface tweaks, fixes, support for CSS3 gradients and multiple columns, and an upgraded Speed Dial.

Released this Tuesday, Microsoft's Internet Explorer has done reasonably well for itself (considering it's available for Windows 7, Vista, Server 2008 but not Windows XP), reaching 2.3 million downloads in its first 24 hours.

Firefox 4.0 final set for March 22nd release
After a long, long journey with twelve betas and an RC, Firefox 4.0 is ever so close to release, but we'll have to wait until next week to get the final build. According to Mozilla's plans, Firefox 4.0 will launch on Tuesday, March 22nd, one week after Internet Explorer 9 came out.
