XFX HD6950 1GB Overclocked Edition
The XFX HD6950 1GB Overclocked Edition was put to the test today by the crew at Overclockers Club. The outcome? Everything about this card is appealing آ— we see a visible and statistically significant increase in performance in the XXX Edition over the standard XFX HD 6950. The direct contact heatpipes do a good job at keeping the card cool under typical situations, however it becomes obvious that the performance of the cooler falls apart under a heavy heat load. Many people called the decision into doubt, and the revelation that Judge Howell previously worked as an RIAA lobbyist and as the Managing Director of a pirate-chasing outfit hints at a conflict of interest. Are We Heading for Another Tech Bubble?
The old saying "Those who ignore history are bound to repeat it" is a good one to remember when dealing with the new crop of Tech Bubble babies. The same conditions exist today as before: a glut of overvalued companies waiting to IPO and a matching glut of venture capital just waiting to be invested. The many similarities of this bubble incarnation may hopefully be offset by their dis-similarities this time around.
