Facebook Still Plans to Share Phone Numbers, Addresses
I like how everyone acts surprised that Facebook is still planning on sharing user info. The headline above should actually read "Facebook still plans on sharing dumb people's phone numbers." Why do I say "dumb" people? Because if you don't put the info there, it can't be shared. Thanks to mobusta1 for the heads up. In a response to Reps. Edward Markey (D-Mass.) and Joe Barton (R-Texas), the company now says it plans to go ahead with offering the functionality. "We expect that, once the feature is re-enabled, Facebook will again permit users to authorize applications to obtain their contact information," the company wrote, adding it was looking into ways to "further enhance user control." Building a Triple-Screen Beast for Under a Grand
Can you build a triple monitor gaming box on a sub-$1000 budget? [H] forum member Dario D. did it and he shares his secrets in this thread. This guy definitely deserves props for a budget box that looks like a million bucks. So, earlier last year, I realized you could build a triple-screen gaming/graphics PC for $983 (after tax). On it, I can run all at the same time: Unreal Tournament 3 (60-90fps at max settings, measured on one screen only), 3d Studio Max, Photoshop, and Firefox with 4 windows and 30 tabs open, without any slowdown. (most other games run at an average of 60-90fps at max settings/resolution (one screen tested only, no AA), with Crysis a little slower, around 30fps at medium settings.

Laptop With Eye Tracking
As if your eyeballs weren't strained enough as it is, researchers at Lenovo want you to use your eyes to control your computer. Hmmm, I'm not sure I'm convinced. My eyes dart away from the monitor a thousand times an hour regardless whether I am gaming, reading or just watching a video. What about you? It tracks your gaze and figures out where you're looking on the screen. That means, among other things, that you can play a game where you burn up incoming asteroids with a laser that hits where you look. Comments

Former Apple Employee Pleads Guilty in Kickback Scheme
Are we taking bets on how much time this guy gets in prison? The company didn\'t catch the guy for 5 years and, as part of his plea deal he is admitting to $2.5M in damages, there is no telling how much damage he really did. In pleading guilty, Devine admitted to engaging in a scheme to defraud Apple, Inc., of its money or property and its right to his honest services while he was employed with the company from 2005 through 2010. In addition, Devine admitted to transferring the proceeds of the wire fraud between various bank accounts in the U.S. and overseas in order to conceal the nature, location, source, ownership and control of the proceeds; and to conducting financial transactions with criminally-derived property worth more than $10,000. Intel 510 Series 250GB SATA 6G SSD
Ryan and the crew at PC Perspective have one of the new 250GB Intel 510 Series SATA 6G SSDs in house for a round or two of tests. The gang actually got a bit of a surprise when they disassembled the drive. Hit the link to find out what Intel has inside its new 510 series SSDs. While we were glad to see Intel step up and release this 6Gb/sec part, I can't help but feel this was a bit of a rush job. While the drive performed decently and reliably, I certainly didn't get that same feeling of performance awesomeness present with each of their previous releases. I believe this 510 was pushed out as a stop gap measure, with speedier offerings coming down the road. Sure you could argue this is meant to be a consumer drive only and should be 'good enough' for most people, but the competition is upgrading the definition of 'consumer grade' on a daily basis. PS3 Imports Banned in Europe
Oh man, you know Sony has to be plenty pissed over this one. The patent dispute between electronics giants Sony and LG over the Blu-ray playback capabilities of Sony's PlayStation 3 console is now hitting Sony in the marketplace: LG had won a 10-day ban on the importation of Sony's PlayStation 3 gaming console into Europe—and the ban could be extended. Customs officials in Holland have reportedly already seized tens of thousands of the gaming consoles, and industry estimates place the number of PS3 units imported into Europe as high as 100,000 per week.
