Fractal Design has today announced the addition of a new PC case to its portfolio, that of the Core 3000 model which is claimed to offer a unique combination of design, features, cooling performance and value.

Microsoft Hotmail debuts email aliases, fighting spam gets a bit easier
Whether its for convenience or security, a lot of people have multiple email accounts, which isn't bad, but also not the most streamlined method of managing communication. Because of this Microsoft has introduced aliases, 'fake' accounts that will route emails to your Hotmail hub.

Buffalo's new external DVD writer boasts two USB cables, tops 8x speed
Buffalo is now preparing the release (in Japan at least) of an external DVD writer known as DVSM-PC58U2V that will be available in three colors (black, white and silver), and will offer users two choices for powering it up - the classic AC adapter, or the also classic USB port.

MSI to release Wind Top AE2240 Intel-based all-in-one PC
MSI's first all-in-one of 2011 is known as Wind Top AE2240 and it is a sleek and smooth, white-colored model that packs a 21.6-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) multi-touch display, and is based on Intel's last-generation mobile platform (no SATA 3.0 Gbps bug on this one) aka Calpella.

Chrome 9 goes stable, brings WebGL, Chrome Web Store to the masses
Google has yesterday released two new Chrome builds, one is the dev/tester-oriented 10.0.648.18, and one is a Stable release (9.0.597.84) which can be (more or less) safely used by everyone on Windows Mac OS or Linux.

Gear up for beefy Patch Tuesday, 12 updates coming from Microsoft
2011 started off pretty slow, with only two updates introduced in January's Patch Tuesday, but this month Microsoft is going big and will let loose 12 updates - three rated Critical and nine rated Important, that fix some 22 vulnerabilities, including two previously acknowledged.

Antec debuts updated P183, P193, Nine Hundred Two & Twelve Hundred cases
Antec has just announced an update for four of its cases, the Performance One Series P183 and P193, and the Gaming Series Hundred Two and Twelve Hundred. The tweaked models, which end in 'V3', have a trio of additions to boost their ease of use and functionality.

Android Ice Cream to bring phones some Honeycomb features
Smartphones are pretty much getting the short stick with the latest Android version (Honeycomb) which is tailored specifically for larger-display devices, namely tablets. All is not lost though as reports say Google is working on a new, phone-friendly Android build based on Honeycomb.

Sharkoon rolls out the Scorpio 1000/2000 PC cases
Sharkoon Technologies has this week expanded its PC chassis offering with two new midi-towers, the Scorpio 1000 and Scorpio 2000. Both cases measure 500 (L) x 210 (W) x 503 (H) mm and weight around 7.26kg, have a black coating inside and out, but they differ a little in front panel design.

Venue smartphone up for order on Dell.com, set to ship in two weeks
Announced for the US market last month (and previously released in Hong Kong), the Dell Venue smartphone has now found its way onto Dell.com and is awaiting US orders in two flavors, one compatible with AT&T and one with T-Mobile. Both versions are expected to start shipping on February 18.

Motorola ATRIX 4G smartphone going up for pre-order next week
Motorola's most powerful smartphone yet, the Tegra 2-equipped ATRIX 3G, is set to become available for pre-order through AT&T as of February 13 (next Sunday), and is expected to begin shipping by March 6th.
