Former Guns N' Roses Band Member To Fight Spam
Hold on, is Duff McKagan saying he's going to fight spam for everyone or just himself? If he does it for everyone, it would be cool...if he wore a cape. Facebook Scare Tactics Knocked by Security Pro
You know that phishy-scammy e-mail you've been getting claiming your Facebook account settings are "very-low" and you should click this link to update your personal information? It really is from Facebook. Facebook has been contacting its members for several weeks now with its "very low" security protection warnings. In the alerts, the company includes a link. Click the link and you're taken to a page that requests additional personal information about you. Sound familiar? This is exactly the tactic used by Internet highwaymen to steal sensitive information from unwitting web users and plant malicious software on their computers. Comments

The Case to Get - Silverstone Raven 2
I have built two personal systems lately using the Raven 2 chassis from Silverstone. You can check out my first build here. I really love these chassis. The airflow from bottom to top is great and the air filtering is second to none in its price range. This is usually a $200 box, but Amazon has these on sale today for $139 after $20 MIR. A good deal without the rebate, a great deal with the rebate. jbz7890 get the credit for the find in the Hot Deals forum.

Clean Up Your Damn Computer!
We've posted pictures of dirty computers before but what makes the pictures below so embarrassing is that this computer is in MY house: This computer belongs to my son and, to put it lightly, he had been neglecting his cleaning duties. So last night, we tore his system completely down and then I let him rebuild it himself. He did a few upgrades in the process and everything came out pretty good for a teenager...it even booted on the first try. Comments

How the World Searched in 2010
What did people search for in 2010? You probably don't want to know. There were a few unintentionally funny results like Northwest Airlines making the "fastest falling" list and unemployment ending up on the "fastest rising" list. From new bills in Washington D.C. to new heroes in the World Cup, Olympics and beyond, there was no shortage of events to captivate our attention. We hope you enjoy this look back to what was on the minds of Americans throughout 2010. Comments

Myspace Mulls Significant Layoffs, With Potential Sale Looming
Rumor has it that MySpace is set to lay off 50% of its staff. I was going to make a joke about how the "once mighty have fallen" but we are talking about another 550+ U.S. jobs being lost, nothing really funny about that. Myspace–the long-troubled social networking site turned social entertainment hub–is in the midst of planning that could soon result in significant layoffs of its staff, according to multiple sources familiar with the situation. That number could be as much as 50 percent of the 1,100 employees at Myspace, largely located in the U.S., but also in international locations. Comments

Apple May Face More Privacy Lawsuits
The experts believe that Apple should probably brace itself for more lawsuits over the misuse of your personal data. While privacy is being debated in government, the latest suits are an indication that consumers are turning to the courts for protection and that trend is likely to continue. "I would not be surprise if there were more lawsuits," Kevin D. Pomfret, a lawyer who advises businesses on privacy issues for the national law firm LeClairRyan, told InformationWeek Wednesday. "This is an area where the law is unclear." Comments

Most US Internet Users Have Paid for Content
Well what do you know, I guess we are not all thieving, pirating bastards after all. The issue of people's willingness to pay for online material has enormous implications for media companies, artistic creators, and others who are hoping to sustain themselves -- or grow new businesses -- by raising revenues through online purchases. Affidavit Details FBI "Operation Payback" Probe
I am not an authority on hacking but I think it is going to be difficult for the group "Anonymous" to call themselves that now that the FBI is on their trail. The PayPal assault was part of "Operation Payback," an organized effort to attack firms that suspended or froze WikiLeaks's accounts in the wake of the group's publication of thousands of sensitive Department of State cables. As noted by the FBI, other targets of this "Anonymous" effort included Visa, Mastercard, Sarah Palin's web site, and the Swedish prosecutor pursuing sex assault charges against Julian Assange, the WikiLeaks founder. 'Zombie' Satellite Comes Back to Life
Not to point out the obvious but what zombie DOESN'T spring back to life? That's why they call them zombies! Seriously, what fun is a zombie that stays dead? A "zombie satellite" that spent months sending out signals while it was adrift in orbit has sprung back to life, resetting itself after its unexplained breakdown in space earlier this year. C'mon, this story has "movie-of-the-week" written all over it...a satellite that mysteriously breaks down, turns into a zombie, inexplicably springs back to life, reenters earth atmosphere carrying an alien life form and kills us all. Facebook tops Google as most visited site in U.S.? Wait a second, I thought they were in third place just two days ago? I guess it's all in who is counting the clicks.
