MSI unveils it's gem, the Big Bang Marshal P67 motherboard
MSI are definitely wanting to have a huge party with the overclocking and enthusiast crowd as of late. First we have the amazing HAWK, Twin Frozr coolers, Big Bang motherboards and overclocked GPU's coming through at every angle.

MSI unveils it's gem, the Big Bang Marshal P67 motherboard

Now we have the top of the line Sandy Bridge mobo - the Big Bang Marshal. The board is an XL-ATX form-factor, with eight (!) PCIe 16x slots which can be used in either a four x16 or an eight x8 configuration. This is made possible thanks to Lucid's HydraLogix chip - which also enables any combination of AMD and NVIDIA GPU's to be used in multi-GPU setups.
If you thought that was overkill, MSI aren't finished yet. The board features three separate BIOS chips, eight USB 3.0 ports, two eight-pin P4 power connectors and a six-pin connector to feed all those PCIe extra juice. It also comes with SATA 6Gbps, dual GbE, on-board power, reset and overclocking buttons, an LED error display and voltage measurement points.
The board is apparently still in development, so the feature set could change between now and the launch which is slated for Q1 2011.
You may begin to wipe the drool from your face.

CES Rumor Mill: Does huge price slash on HP Envy 13 mean a new ultra-thin laptop release is imminent?
HP's Envy 13, their answer to the Macbook Air, has gotten a serious price slash from $1499.99 to $999.99 With its 13.1-inch, 1366×768 screen, Intel 1.6GHz Core 2 Duo Processor (SL9300), 3GB of memory, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 Graphics with 512MB of dedicated memory, Beats audio, and 250GB (5400RPM) hard disk drive, that makes this a pretty attractive laptop for the price.

CES Rumor Mill: Does huge price slash on HP Envy 13 mean a new ultra-thin laptop release is imminent?

The big question being raised at this point is whether HP is just looking to clear out old stock, or whether they've got something up their sleeves to compete with the newest Macbook Airs at CES. With the Envy 13 no longer even featured on the HP Envy page alongside its bigger brothers, it's anyone's guess at HP's strategy at this point. I guess we'll find out in about a week.

Hex watch band turns your iPod nano into a wristwatch
If you are the owner of a new sixth gen iPod nano, you have undoubtedly seen all of those watch bands that have been making their rounds to turn the iPod into a wrist watch of geeky greatness. If you have been holding out until a watchband that looked really cool was available that would also protect your device the Hex Watch Band may be exactly what you have been waiting for. The band is made totally of soft silicone material that will help prevent damage and won't scratch the nano.

Hex watch band turns your iPod nano into a wristwatch

The Hex comes in nine different colors and the nano is easy to get in and out of the band with a design that is dubbed "Pop-in, Pop-out" that lets you get the iPod in and out quickly with no tools. The watch band also holds the nano in a good position to run headphone cords up the arm or sleeve of a jacket for listening on the go.
The band can be ordered right now for a bit under $30. I like the hex design on the strap; it gives the band a nice finish that looks better than plain smooth silicone would. You can see a video of the watch band below.

Moshi Reflection Clock is a Brookstone exclusive
I really hate having to set my alarm clock. The thing is a huge pain to set with tiny buttons that are hard to see and push. I hate it even more if I look away for a second and pass the hour I need and have to go all the way back around to set the thing. Changing for DST really sucks too. If you have the same hatred for programming normal alarm clocks, you might like the latest offering from Moshi.

Moshi Reflection Clock is a Brookstone exclusive

Moshi has tech inside its cool alarm clocks that is perfect for those that can't see that well and for those that just hate programming their normal clock. The tech allows you to press one button and then tell the Moshi clock what time it is to set it. You can program alarms and just about all of the other features of the clock using your voice. You can even set snooze with your voice.
The latest clock is the Reflection and it is a Brookstone exclusive item selling for about $56. It offers dual alarms, indoor and outdoor temperatures, and a six-color night light. The sensor for outside temperature is wireless and included in the price. Power comes from three AA batteries. You can buy the clock right now.

Colorful unveils cool limited edition iGame460 video card
I think that all gamers and computer enthusiasts can agree that for the most part the only difference between video cards from different vendors is the name on the sticker and the bundle that comes with the card. One stock clocked GTX460 is the same as another when you get down to it. If you are in the market for a new video card, a company called Colorful has a new offering that has a really cool bundle and is very limited edition.

Colorful unveils cool limited edition iGame460 video card

The card is called the iGame460 Commemorative Edition and only 50 of them will be offered in the entire world. That exclusivity gets you an NVIDIA GTX 460 video card with a really cool heat sink and fan. The card has dual fans and the shroud over the fans has lots of angles for good looks. It has an interesting customizable cooling solution. That spike and heat sink you see on the bottom of the picture above is actually a heat pipe that you can add onto the card if you want to.
The card and its accessories come packaged in a metal look suitcase with foam cutouts on the inside. The customizable heat sink is known as the Air-Kit aero. The card also includes something called a network snake power cord. I have no idea exactly what that is. Pricing and availability are unknown. The card has 2GB of RAM and the clock speeds are 890MHz on the core and 4000MHz on the RAM.

Apple orders 65 million screens for 2011
Apple have placed orders with manufacturers like LG, Samsung and Chimei Innolux for 9.7-inch iPad displays for sales in 2011. LG take the lead with a request for 35 million, with Samsung and Chimei Innolux splitting the remaining 30 million.

Apple orders 65 million screens for 2011

To put this into perspective, Apple have had a very successful year of iPad sales in 2010 - but only 16.75 million screens were made. Obviously a jump to 65 million is a large leap of faith.
Apple are very confident in the 9.7-inch format and Steve Jobs himself has even said "We think the 7 inch tablets will be dead on arrival, and manufacturers will realize they're too small and abandon them next year. They'll then increase the size, abandoning the customers and developers who bought into the smaller format."
Do Apple know something we don't? Is iPad 2 going to kick the rest of the tablets squarely in the nuts and start taking names? I'm betting on a yes.

MSI Radeon HD 6850 Cyclone 1GB Power Edition Video Card
Introduction

MSI Radeon HD 6850 Cyclone 1GB Power Edition Video Card

At launch we saw that the HD 6850 was attacked straight away by partners due to AMD letting companies make their own design of the model. This is good for two reasons; the first is that come launch day we see a lot of companies offer a lot of different coolers. It just helps make everything a little different instead of looking at reference card over reference card.
The second, though, is that partners are able to attack the model a lot faster than they normally would, as they've already been playing around with the model in making a non-reference version.
The first company we saw really attack the model was Sapphire in the form of the TOXIC version. Today we see MSI come to the party with the Cyclone, although it's not your normal Cyclone version, this particular one is the Cyclone "Power Edition." What exactly does that mean? - Well, let's check out the package before we check out the card and its specifications where we can dive into what's really on offer.
The Package

LucidLogix GPU Virtualization to Reform Entertainment PC Power Consumption
LucidLogix GPU Virtualization to Reform Entertainment PC Power Consumption
The pioneer of multivendor/multi-GPU graphic solutions, LucidLogix today announced ground-breaking GPU virtualization software designed for Intel Sandy Bridge platforms. With this technology, next generation PCs will dynamically balance the advanced power-efficient, built-in media features of Sandy Bridge processor graphics with the high-end, DirectX 11 3D performance features of discrete GPUs, while significantly reducing the power drain of traditional entertainment desktops.
Called Virtu, the Lucid GPU virtualization software is able to assign tasks in real time to the best available graphics resource based on power, performance and features considerations, with no need for additional hardware. If high end graphics power is needed for applications like DirectX 11, high-resolution 3D gaming, the system will assign the job to the discrete GPU. If not, the discrete GPU automatically goes into idle mode, while heat drops, fan speed slows down and GPU utilization goes down to zero, resulting in a green, power-efficient, long-lasting system.

LucidLogix GPU Virtualization to Reform Entertainment PC Power Consumption

"What we have really accomplished here is a seamless visual experience where it is not necessary to choose between the amazingly rich media features of Intel Sandy Bridge platform, like HD playback and powerful video transcoding, and the high-end 3D graphics functionality and performance of a discrete GPU," said Offir Remez, LucidLogix president and founder. "Now it is possible to experience a no-guilt, nocompromise PC entertainment experience, and save on energy at the same time."
Designed for entry-level through mainstream PCs equipped with second generation Intel's Core i3/i5/i7 and NVIDIA or AMD 3D GPUs, Virtu software automatically adjusts the performance, thermal and feature allocation based on the requirements of individual applications. The only system requirement is to always connect the display screen directly to the motherboard's Sandy Bridge display output (DVI, HDMI, etc).
Recently demonstrated to the world's top ODM and OEM system manufacturers, Remez added, "Customer feedback has been tremendous, since Virtu addresses a longstanding challenge in the market for dynamic resource allocation. Now desktops, which in real life rarely get shut down, will have the maximum graphics performance and features when they need it, while saving energy when they do not."
Interested parties can evaluate a demo version of Lucid Virtu immediately and a beta version will be available in January 2011. In addition, the software will be demonstrated in a private suite in Las Vegas during the upcoming CES show, January 6-9.

8GB of Memory Fits up to 2,400 Songs (20 Audio Books)
With 8GB of memory, users can easily create a 2,400 song (20 audio book) personal playlist with up to 8 hours of playtime. The patent-pending UWaterG2 waterproof MP3 player easily clips onto an armband (included), goggles, headband, or belt for swim-anywhere/go-anywhere listening pleasure. "The UWaterG2 ends the boredom of swimming laps, letting you enjoy music and audio books while boating, surfing, scuba diving, snorkeling, skiing, walking in the rain, or running -- this is the ultimate outdoor companion!" said Opher Pail, President, Fitness Technologies Inc.
"Twist & Lock" Earphones Provide Double Protection to Completely Seal Out Water --
The UWaterG2 features Waterproof Audio Technologies (WAT) and "Twist & Lock" technology that not only completely seals water out of the earphone jacks, but also provides crucial long term protection against corrosion -- a problem that often damages devices with regular jacks. Since the UWaterG2 is rated at the highest level IPX water submersion standard -- IPX8-certified 100% waterproof up to 10 Feet/3 Meters underwater, you never have to worry about accidentally damaging your MP3 player.
