Asus U31 13.3-inch ultrathin laptop to hit European stores next month
By the end of next month Asus will let loose upon European markets a new U series laptop, the U31 ultrathin which weights just 1.78kg, has a 13.3-inch (1366 x 768) LED-backlit display, and utilizes the Super Hybrid Engine performance-balancing technology.

Fujitsu shows off upcoming slate at VISIT 2010
At its VISIT 2010 conference in Munich, Japanese company Fujitsu has showcased a fresh slate which it plans to release in early 2011, probably at CES 2011. The slate features a 10.1-inch touchscreen, runs Windows (7 most likely), and was 'designed for global usability in corporate environments.'

DLNA.org slips out Samsung Stealth V 4.3-inch Android 2.2 smartphone

Genius has this week introduced its newest PC-prone webcam, the FaceCam 1000 which supports resolutions up to 720p (1280 x 720 pixels), can capture 8 megapixel images, and features 360 degree rotation capabilities.

Sony to open ebook store, launch two e-readers in Japan next month
Sony is prepping a big push into the Japanese e-book market, and the first moves will be made next month when it will introduce two Reader models - one 5-inch and one 6-inch, and open up an online ebook store containing some 20,000 titles, most of which will be translated in Japanese.

Team Group finally launches the TP1023 racy extenal hard drive
Taiwan-based Team Group has now officially introduced the TP1023 external hard drive revealed at Computex this past summer. The new HDD has a head-turning sports car design with a Ferrari red coating, and comes with a USB 3.0 or USB 2.0 interface.

Taiwan-based AIB maker MSI today introduced the R6870 Twin Frozr II, a Radeon HD 6870 which is 19 degrees (Celsius) cooler and 12.8 dB quieter than reference models due to its use of the dual-slot Twin Frozr II cooler packing two fans and five heatpipes.

Mitsubishi Electric makes QHD (960 x 540) 9-inch LCD module
Mitsubishi Electric has just announced that it developed a new, 9-inch color TFT LCD module which features a QHD (960 x 540) resolution and is suitable for video monitors used in broadcasting. The panel also has an 8ms response time, a 1000:1 contrast ratio, and LED backlighting.
