Intel introduces the Atom E600C series configurable processors
Intel has now expanded its embedded computing offering with the Atom E600C series chips which are basically Atom E600 family processors (codename Tunnel Creek) with an Altera Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA), both in a single package, enabling customization depending on customer needs.

Broadcom acquiring Gigle Networks for its powerline chip tech
Broadcom Corp. today announced that it will be buying, for about $75 million, Barcelona-based Gigle Networks Inc., a company known for designing system-on-a-chip (SoC) solutions enabling high-speed home networking over power lines.

Samsung claims Galaxy Tab sales have passed 600,000 units
Less than a month has passed since the Galaxy Tab's release and Samsung's tablet is looking very capable of hitting the 1 million sales mark by the end of this year. To date, Galaxy Tab sales have surpassed 600,000 units, and the holiday shopping mania isn't in full swing yet.

Zalman preps CNPS5X CPU cooler for December release
Previously showcased at Computex in Taiwan, Zalman's CNPS5X tower-shaped CPU cooler is finally gearing up for release, and is expected to start hitting stores next month, bearing a price tag of â‚¬26.90.

Apple releasing iOS 4.2 update for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch
After a little delay, today the iOS 4.2 update for Apple's iPad, iPhone and iPot touch is making its debut, bringing multitasking to the fruity tablet, as well as AirPlay for streaming content wireless to Apple TV, and AirPrint for, well, wire-free printing.

Kingston's HyperX Max 3.0 external SSDs break cover - update
Kingston has been promising a HyperX-branded portable solid state drive for quite a while and it looks like it's almost ready to deliver with the HyperX Max 3.0 line. The upcoming drives have a smooth metal casing, a USB 3.0 interface and deliver read/write speeds of up to 195/160 MB/s.

Kingston rolls out the low-capacity S100 SSDs for non-PC applications
Kingston Technology has now added a new line to the SSDNow family of solid state drives, the S100 which targets system integrators and white box builders. This series includes 2.5-inch drives with a SATA 3.0 Gbps interface and a MTBF (mean time before failure) of 1 million hours.

Thermaltake has just revealed to the world the Dokker, a sexy PC chassis targeting gamers and enthusiasts on a budget. This new model is a mid-tower which tries to stand out by having a dock supporting 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch HDDs/SSDs embedded on top for easy storage maneuvering.

Nokia unveils the C2-01 and X2-01 sub-â‚¬100 phones
Nokia today announced a couple of new low-cost candybar-shaped mobile phones - the C2-01 and X2-01. The first arrival will be the X2-01 which measures 119.4 x 59.8 x 14.3 mm and weights 107.5 grams, has a QWERTY keyboard, and a 2.4-inch (320 x 240) display.

AMD 3.3 GHz Phenom II X6 1100T processor up for pre-order
More gun-jumping was performed by several stores which have went on to list AMD's yet-unannounced Phenom II X6 1100T hexa-core processor. The new chip is clocked at 3.3 GHz, packs 6MB of L3 cache, and is a Black Edition model, meaning it features an unlocked multiplier.

Pandigital 9-inch e-book reader goes on sale
Without much, or better yet, any kind of fuss, Pandigital has introduced its latest e-reader, a device which features a 9-inch full color resistive touchscreen, 2GB of built-in storage, a microSD slot, and 802.11 b/g WiFi enabling access to sites, and the Barnes & Noble store.

Cooler Master readies CM 690 II Advanced Nvidia Edition PC case

Budapest-based FinalWire has last week acquired the assets related to the Everest diagnostics, hardware monitoring, network audit, and benchmarking software, and discontinued the product line, leaving the market open for its successor (and predecessor too actually), AIDA64.

MSI details the FX610MX AMD-based notebook
A fresh F series laptop is coming out of MSI's lab, and it features a 15.6-inch 1366 x 768) LED-backlit display, an anti-scratch jet black raised totem seal coating, plus the Cinema Pro technology which automatically tweaks the screen's settings to enable a better movie viewing experience.

Odys Genesis e-reader comes with dual-core ARM chip, 8.4-inch display
German brand Odys will next week introduce Genesis, its latest and most advanced e-book reader which can double up as a tablet when needed. Named Genesis, the upcoming device weights just 490 grams, has an 8.4-inch (800 x 600) color display, and is powered by a 660 MHz dual-core ARM9 processor.

Radeon HD 6990 beastie to pack 3840 SPs, 4GB of memory
While delayed and now set for a Q1 arrival, AMD's next-gen dual-GPU graphics card, the Radeon HD 6990 (codename Antilles), is still one very enticing product, and a leaked specification slide comes to confirm it.

Dell Inspiron Duo convertible netbook up for pre-order in the Microsoft Store
The Microsoft Store is happy to provide holiday shoppers with the possibility of pre-ordering Dell's new Inspiron Duo which features a flipping 10.1-inch (1366 x 768) capacitive touchscreen and can be used both as a netbook and as a tablet PC.

LG E-Note H1000B 10-inch tablet PC available in South Korea
Before reaching the US, LG Electronics' E-Note H1000B Wintel tablet has first made it to market in South Korea where it can be found priced at $854. This mobile machine runs Microsoft's Windows 7 Starter (the upgrade to Professional is possible), and packs Atom power.

Velocity Micro shipping its 7-inch Cruz Tablet
After being on pre-order for few goods months, the Cruz Tablet from PC maker Velocity Micro has finally began shipping, joining Samsung and a others in the 7-inch tablet world. The Cruz Tablet costs $300 and runs Android 2.0.

Jolibook netbook available up for order in the UK
As expected, the Jolibook netbook has went on sale in the UK, with the first batch of units being set to ship today. If you want the Jolicloud 1.1-running machine though, you'll have to wait for it since Amazon.co.uk claims it will be 'dispatched within 1 to 3 months.'
