Elpida makes smallest 2Gb DDR3 DRAM chip using 30nm tech
Elpida just announced that it managed to make the 'industry's smallest' 2Gb (gigabit) DDR3 SDRAM by taking advantage of 30nm processing technology. According to Elpida, the transition to 30nm will result in 45% more chips per wafer compared to 40nm products, making the new chip very cost-effective.
