Kobo offers its own ebook reading desktop application
Catching up to its bigger rivals, Kobo has now released a free application for PCs and Macs that enables people to purchase, manager and read ebooks. Better yet, it lets owners of Nook or Sony e-readers to access the Kobo store and buy new books for their devices.

Opera Mini 5.1 available for Windows Mobile too
Introduced in July for Java and Android phones, Opera Mini 5.1 has now also been released for Windows Mobile 2003 SE, 5.x and 6.x handsets. This update enables users to set Opera Mini as the default browser, adds support for auto-rotation and higher resolutions, and improves page rendering.

Asus releases three new EeeTop series all-in-one desktops in Europe
Asus today announced the continental EU introduction of three new EeeTop PC ET2010 all-in-one desktops boasting 20-inch (1600 x 900) multi-touch displays and running Windows 7 (Home Premium), the ET2010AG, ET2010PNT and ET2010AGT.

EIZO announces the Foris FS2331 23-inch gaming-ready monitor
Better known for its professional-grade display line, EIZO has now introduced something to really entice regular consumers, the Foris FS2331 23.-inch LCD monitor. This new display makes use of a VA (vertical alignment) panel and is claimed to be great for gaming, watching movies and photo editing.

Opera 10.62 released, boasts fixes and tweaks
Opera Software has now made available the 10.62 version of its Opera desktop browser for all three major platform - Windows, Mac OS and Linux. This update doesn't add any new features but includes security and stability enhancements.

eLocity A7 7-inch Android tablet available for pre-order
People looking for more alternatives to Apple's iPad may be interested in the eLocity A7, a new 7-inch tablet which runs Android 2.2 (aka Froyo) and is powered by Nvidia's Cortex-A9-based Tegra 2 SoC. This device is now available for pre-order and costs $370.

Lian Li unveils the PC-Q09 and PC-Q09F mini-ITX cases
Lian Li has now announced two more Mini-Q series PC cases which can house mini-ITX motherboards and can be used for HTPCs. The two chassis' - the PC-Q09 and PC-Q09F, have an aluminum construction, and are set to become available at the end of this month.

Dell coming out with four new widescreen LCD monitors
Without so much of a press release, Dell has begun an autumn update for its monitor line-up, and introduced a quartet or widescreen LCDs in Asia (for starters), the 20-inch IN2020M, the 22-inch ST2220M and ST2220L, and the 23-inch ST2320L.

T-Mobile officially announces G2 smartphone
T-Mobile USA has now confessed to carrying the HTC-made and Android 2.2-based G2 smartphone, claiming that it will offer downloads at 4G speeds through its new HSPA+ network. T-Mobile customers are expected to be able to pre-order the G2 later this month.
