Dell launches new all-in-one desktop
Dell launched a new all-in-one desktop and upgraded its smallest desktop. The 23-inch Inspiron One is meant to go both against the iMac and HP's TouchSmart line with a 1080p, multi-touch display that centers on a new touch front end known as Stage. The interface provides quick access to apps, music, photos and video, including online services such as CinemaNow and Netflix. The One is likewise a long-due upgrade to quad-core: an optional upgrade gives it an Athlon II X4 processor. Dell promises options for Mobility Radeon HD 5450 graphics, a Blu-ray drive and as much as 1TB of disk space. HDMI input is built-in and turns it into a full-fledged display for game consoles, TV set-top boxes and other devices for students and others who may want to consolidate all their media into one device. Base specs for the Inspiron One haven't been revealed, but they should be made public this weekend when the system goes on sale for a starting price of $799.

Internet Explorer 9 beta downloaded more than 2 million times
Microsoft has released report relating to their launch of the Internet Explorer 9 beta and downloads have been very strong. Released on the 15th, the software giant says 2.1 million people downloaded the beta over the first 48 hours of availability. By comparison, only 1.3 million downloaded the IE8 beta during its first five days in 2008. Additionally, the company says it has seen 26 million page views to the Beauty of the Web IE9 main page in its first week.

Netflix goes live in Canada
Netflix has officially launched in Canada, after first being announced early in July. Canadian users will be able to stream unlimited movies and TV episodes starting at $7.99 CAD, and all new users are eligible for a one-month free trial (similar to users in the U.S.). Netflix does make one important note, however, that the service only works in English for the time being, meaning French Canadians will not have a service for them for the time being.

Nvidia Tegra 3 almost finished
During his GTC keynote speech, Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang made it clear that the Tegra 3 mobile system-on-a-chip (SoC) was well on its way to being completed, even though devices using the Tegra 2 SoC have still not hit the market. Moreover, early development of the Tegra 4 has already started. The CEO says the plan is to release a new ARM-based processor each year, meaning the Tegra 4 should hit in 2012.

Nintendo 3DS specs revealed
According to the Internet sources, the hardware specs for the upcoming Nintendo 3DS will include two ARM11 CPU’s clocked at 266MHz coupled to a 133Mhz graphics processors. These will be supported by 64MB of system RAM and 4MB of dedicated VRAM. Along with the high-powered hardware, it will also come with 1.5GB in-built of flash storage, up from the 256MB on the DSi. The 3DS also includes an SD card slot, allowing even greater storage expansion.

Toshiba puts GeForce GTX 460M into Qosmio X500
Toshiba upgrades the Qosmio X500 notebook to take advantage of NVIDIA's new GeForce GTX 460M. The upgraded 1.5GB graphics chip gives a significant performance boost over the 360M and better helps filling the 18.4-inch display. Among the boosts are native DirectX 11 game support and better GPGPU capabilities.

Sony releases slim external Blu-ray drive
Sony America announced its first slim, portable and external Blu-ray rewritable drive, the BDX-S500U. It can write BD-R discs at 6X as well as dual-layer and rewritable Blu-ray discs at 4X and 2X respectively. The device can reach the full 50GB capacity of the format and attaches over USB.

Google to add Android and iPad support for Google Docs
Google has said yesterday that mobile editing capabilities for Google Docs are headed to Android devices and the Apple iPad in the near future. Enterprise President Dave Girouard said the new feature should be implemented within weeks.
