ASUS Crosshair IV Extreme Hydra-equipped AM3 motherboard made official
ASUS finally introduced its newest Republic of Gamers motherboard, the Crosshair IV Extreme model which supports AM3 processors, is powered by the AMD 890FX + SB850 chip combo, and also contains one HydraLogix chip which can handle cross-vendor multi-GPU setups (e.g. a Radeon and a GeForce working together in games).

Several Intel Core i3 and i5 models moving to K0 stepping
Intel has announced that three of its 32nm Clarkdale desktop processors, the 2.93 GHz Core i3-530, 3.06 GHz i3-540 and 3.2 GHz i5-650, will undergo a stepping conversion and start moving from the current C2 stepping to K0 as of next month.

Google Voice apps back in Apple App Store
Apple's promises of reallowing Google Voice apps was honored today as Andreas Amann's free application GV Connect became available once again. The title is much faster than using the web interface and gives access to outbout calls, text messaging and voicemail. It works with both the iPhone and iPod touch, although the iPod as expected can't take inbound calls. GV Mobile and a few other apps that had existed before don't yet appear to be back in the store, though this is likely to change quickly.

RIAA becomes target of DDoS attack
The anonymous group of hackers called Anonymous has taken down multiple websites relating to anti-piracy firms since last Friday, starting with the MPAA and AiPlex Software and taking down the RIAA yesterday. Dubbed Operation Payback , the protest revolves around DDoS attacks on the firm's main sites, located at MPAA.com, MPAA.org, RIAA.com and Aiplex.com.
