16 Interesting Facts About The BlackBerry
The BlackBerry brand has been synonymous with smartphones for close to a decade now. But while millions of people around the world own, use and are maybe even addicted to the devices, only a select few are familiar with the history of the BlackBerry and Research In Motion, or RIM, the company that actually makes the devices. This infographic put together by the team at Cell Phones.Org, details much of the BlackBerry’s and RIM’s history right up to the release of the new Blackberry Torch 9800, which

'Angry Birds' Lite Beta Flies Into Android Market
Angry Birds has arrived on Android, and we don't mean an Android viewable version of "The Birds," either. Instead, we mean the extremely popular iOS game, which has now landed on Android, as announced by the company on Twitter. The goal of Angry Birds is to shoot, well, Angry Birds with a giant slingshot at the enemy pig houses and destroy the pigs inside. Naturally, each stage is more difficult, and you have to strategize to find weaknesses in the houses. This is the beta version, but Android users should be

Toshiba Jumps on the Tablet Bandwagon
Yes folks, it's another day, which means there's another tablet announcement to add to the avalanche of slates we've been promised since Apple's iPad proved a market exists for these types of devices. This latest one comes from Toshiba's European operations, which this week officially introduced their upcoming Folio 100 tablet. Like so many other slates in the pipeline, the Folio 100 is a 10.1-inch device that will come built around the Android 2.2 platform, otherwise known as Froyo. Toshiba says they're targeting

Samsung Debuts SF And NF Series Notebooks
New laptops anyone? If you're Samsung, you're definitely saying yes. The company has announced two new lines of sleek mobile computers today, the SF series of ultraportables and the NF series of standard-sized notebooks. The SF series consists of the Samsung SF310, SF410, SF510, with screen sizes being 13.3", 14" and 15" in order. Logitech Intros Two Portable Laptop Speakers
If you've ever tried to listen to music (and we mean, really listen to music) on a notebook, you'll know just how frustrating it is. Built-in notebook speakers are subpar at best, even those with "built-in subwoofers." The technology has evolved a lot over the years, but it's still not a fulfilling experience to listen to your favorite tunes over those tiny tweeters that companies call speakers. Logitech knows the pain well. They have just released information on two new towable speakers, which are meant to

Those Fabulous Falling CPU Prices!
I always like to check the local Fry's ad for good hardware deals, but lately the ads don't show the prices of the AMD processors. Instead they simply says that the price is 'Too LOW to SHOW'. Curiosity finally got the best of me and I gave them a call. In case you are curious, too, that Phenom II X6 1090T is only $249.99. Yowza. Take a look HERE to see what NewEgg is selling this jewel for. The prices of both AMD and Intel processors have been falling drastically of late, and this is good news! Someone here on HotHardware is going to win that MSI Big Bang X-Power motherboard and they will need to purchase a new Intel CPU to reside there. It seems that these falling prices have come at a good time for that lucky Dawg!

He's back

He's back! Run and hide!!!
One of the most controversial video game character, Duke Nukem, is coming back in 2011 in Duke Nukem Forever. The character many parents complained about and banned there kids from playing. As a kid this was the second fps i ever played. A friend of my brought it over for n64 once.... once. We began playing it for a little bit, then my mom wondered what i was playing, she watched for a min and instantly forced me to shut it off and not play it ( of corse i just played it at my friends house lol). If you are a duke fan be prepared for the games release next year and the pwnage you are about to lay down in it.
This classic is hopefully going to be good, but i dont know how it will compare with newer fps games. Either way knowing duke nukem he is going to cause some talk.

Energizer's Inductive Charger Juices Your Mobile Devices Wirelessly
"We believe that a universal standard is the future of charging, and by leading the way with one of the first Qi products -- the Energizer Inductive Charger -- we are meeting a clear need for a product that makes charging devices easier by eliminating cords and clutter," said Jim Olsen, Vice President of Marketing for Energizer North America. "This next generation charger is a natural extension of an innovative product portfolio that brings more freedom for people to live and to work using power that's reliable and convenient."
QI, which we're told is pronounced "chee," paves the way for consumers to charge their smartphones, MP3 players, digital cameras, and pretty much any other electronic device that sips 5 watts or less on a single charging station, and it works with gadgets from all manufacturers.
Energizer's first run Inductive Charger comes capable charging up to three devices at once. There are two large inductive charging zones, so Energizer says you don't have to worry about positioning your gadgets perfectly -- just set them down and walk away. It also comes with a USB port so you can hook up an additional device.
Energizer's Inductive Charger will show up in retail this October for $90.

Memory Ratio?
I am waiting for my RAM to return. I did remove the battery for a good 30 minutes and I frequently pushed the power button to remove any charge maybe left in the capacitors.
With that said my new RAM is four 1GB sticks of Crucial Ballistix rated at 1066 2.0V DDR2 5-5-5-15. My question is if I have a Q9550 which is a 1333 FSB what should I run the RAM at as far as a ratio to keep things stable1:1, 2:1?
Also should I keep the timings at 5-5-5-15? I ask this because To my understanding a 1333 FSB will be pushing the RAM past what it is capable so I might have to loosen the timings,,,,,,correct?

Logitech Intros Two Portable Laptop Speakers
If you've ever tried to listen to music (and we mean, really listen to music) on a notebook, you'll know just how frustrating it is. Built-in notebook speakers are subpar at best, even those with "built-in subwoofers." The technology has evolved a lot over the years, but it's still not a fulfilling experience to listen to your favorite tunes over those tiny tweeters that companies call speakers. Logitech knows the pain well. They have just released information on two new towable speakers, which are meant to dock and reside on your laptop lid in order to greatly enhance the music quality from your notebook.
The Logitech Wireless Speaker Z515 and the Logitech Laptop Speaker Z305 are both designed to work with Macs and PCs, not to mention iPad and iPhone. The wireless version works from up to 50 feet away, and it uses a standard 2.4GHz transceiver in order to stream music from a notebook/device to the speaker itself; just plug the adapter into a USB port and stream away. There's dual two-inch drivers, which aren't huge, but will certainly sound better than your internal notebook speakers. This one also has a rechargeable battery that can power your speaker for up to 10 hours.
The Z305 uses a USB cable for power, and it's designed to rest on your laptop lid as you use it. It's said to be plug-and-play, but you'll still be dealing with a cable. The Logitech Wireless Speaker Z515 is expected to be available in September in the U.S. and Europe for a suggested retail price of $99.99 (U.S.). The Logitech Laptop Speaker Z305 is expected to be available in September in the U.S. and Europe for a suggested retail price of $59.99 (U.S.).

FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Laptop computers have dramatically changed the way you enjoy entertainment today, but laptop audio hasn’t really kept pace. Whether you use a Mac® or a Windows®-based laptop or a netbook, the Wireless Speaker Z515 delivers great sound from your laptop, iPad™ or iPhone®, with no strings attached, while the Laptop Speaker Z305 brings you all-around sound in a compact design.

“The speakers built into most laptops are tiny and can’t always reproduce powerful audio, said Mark Schneider, vice president and general manager of Logitech’s audio business unit. “Whether you’re an MP3 junkie or a movie lover, our two new laptop speakers make it easy to connect, turn the sound up and lose yourself in the things you love. There’s no reason that you can’t have quality audio while you’re watching the latest YouTube® sensation or the newest Hollywood release on your laptop.
Logitech Wireless Speaker Z515 — Great Sound, No Strings Attached
To free you from the hassle of cords and let you place your speakers up to 50 feet (15 m) away, the Logitech Wireless Speaker Z515 uses 2.4 GHz wireless technology to deliver wireless audio. And setup couldn’t be easier. Just plug the included wireless adapter into a USB port on your laptop, and you’re connected in a matter of seconds. Or if you want to connect to an iPad or iPhone, you won’t even need the USB dongle – just put your device into Discovery mode and the Logitech Z515 speaker will find it and connect wirelessly.
But these speakers aren’t just wireless — they also provide rich sound. The speaker’s dual two-inch drivers give full stereo sound and plenty of bass. Plus, so you can take your music with you wherever you go, the Z515 includes a rechargeable battery that can power your speaker for up to 10 hours.
Logitech Laptop Speaker Z305 — All-Around Sound from Your Laptop, To Go
If you are looking for a lightweight, compact speaker that is truly as portable as your laptop, look no farther than the Logitech Laptop Speaker Z305. Thanks to 360-degree audio, the Z305 emits sound evenly in all directions so you get a great listening experience throughout the room. The plug-and-play USB connection delivers power and pure, digital audio instantly — without the need for software or an external power supply.
So you can easily use the speaker anywhere you use your computer — your office, your bed, the airport — the Logitech Laptop Speaker Z305 securely mounts behind the screen so it’s out of the way. And the Laptop Speaker Z305 is also extremely lightweight — approximately one-half pound — which means you'll always be able to take it with you. As an added convenience, the USB cable tucks neatly into the back of your speaker, giving you a look that’s sleek and clutter-free.
When you’re ready to hit the road, both new Logitech laptop speakers fit easily into the included travel case or your laptop bag.Â

This is the beta version, but Android users should be happy anyway. The company Rovio said that they had originally been mulling a closed beta. This one is open.
This week, we were planning to run a closed beta test of Angry Birds Lite for Android. Due to the massive response and demand from the Android community, we have decided to make Angry Birds Lite Beta available for everybody through the Android Market this Friday.Want it? Go get it.
Please note that this will be the beta version of the application which is still undergoing final testing before official release. Angry Birds Lite Beta is presented on an "as is" basis, and we cannot guarantee its functionality on every Android device.

However, there's no guarantee it will run on all devices. The company would like feedback, so please go here and give it to them (there's also a bug button on the main menu). Oh and watch a video of Angry Birds below.
