Measuring 69.0 x 17.0 x 8.0mm (LxWxH), these drives weigh just under 40 g. Available in capacities of 4 GB (MXUB2MCX-4G), 8 GB (MXUB2MCX-8G), 16 GB (MXUB2MCX-16G) and even 32 GB (MXUB2MCX-32G), these drives offer transfer rates of 15 MB/s read and 8 MB/s write. Roccat Intros Kone[+] Gaming Mouse with 6000 dpi Sensor
Roccat rolled out its latest mouse that's a design and specifications update to its popular Kone mouse, the Roccat Kone[+]. The Kone[+] boasts of a high-precision 6,000 dpi Pro-Aim laser sensor compared to the 3,200 dpi sensor on the Kone; and a Tracking & Distance Control Unit that ensures maximum precision. With a right-handed orientation, the Kone[+] has 8 buttons with a four-way scroll-wheel, its weight is adjustable by changing weight of a weight box. The EasyShift button mapping system enables up to 22 functions using the 8 physical buttons, button-maps can be changed on the mouse, and each map can be indicated with the multi-color LED lighting bars that flow along the contours of the mouse. Icy Dock MB668U3-1SB USB 3.0 Drive Enclosure Reaches Stores
Icy Dock's MB668U3-1SB drive enclosure has been released to the North American and European markets. The enclosure takes in 2.5" (9.5 mm thick) SATA hard drives or solid state drives, and makes for external hard drives with USB 3.0 connectivity for transfer rates nearly on par with internal storage controllers. The enclosure takes all its power from the USB port, while also optionally featuring a 5V DC input, just in case. The aluminum+plastic based enclosure is available in carbon black and silver variants, and measures 76.3 x 13 x 150 mm, weighing a little over 80 g (empty). It is priced at 41 EUR.

Intel Readies New Xeon X5690 Processor, Fastest Six-Core
Intel is readying its fastest six-core processors ever. While the company is working to introduce the Core i7 990X Extreme Edition for launch sometime in Q4 2010, it's already begun sampling the Xeon X5690. The X5690 is a dual-socket ready LGA1366 processor based on the 32 nm Westmere-EP silicon. It carries a nominal clock-speed of 3.46 GHz (26.0 x 133 MHz), with a Turbo Boost speed of 3.60 GHz (27.0 x 133 MHz). It features a QuickPath Interconnect speed of 6.4 GT/s, and supports triple-channel registered DDR3 memory with its integrated memory controller. Cache levels include 256 KB L2 cache per core, and 12 MB shared L3 cache.

The processor is compatible with most server boards based on the Intel 5500 and 5520 chipsets with BIOS updates. A quick overclocking feat by Fitseries3 on the EVGA Classified SR-2 motherboard yielded a speed of 5 GHz making use of the high BClk multiplier. The chip is likely to carry a rated TDP of 130W. Intel may release this processor in the next quarter, either displacing the X5680 from its US $1,730 price point, or occupying a higher one. Toshiba Intros ''Value'' Satellite Pro Notebook Models
Targeting the "back to school" shopping season, Toshiba announced two new Satellite Pro notebooks based on the Intel Calpella platform, the 15.6 inch Satellite Pro S500-131, and the 17.3 inch Satellite Pro L670-172. Despite the Satellite Pro series traditionally catering to the mobile performance segment, Toshiba seems to have adopted a "value" approach, with the two being priced at just 649 EUR and 749 EUR, respectively. The 17.3 inch L670-172 has an LED-backlit display with 1600 x 900 pixels resolution, and is driven by the Intel Core i3-350M dual-core processor running at 2.26 GHz, with 3 MB of cache. It is backed up by 4 GB of memory, a 320 GB hard drive, and DVD writer drive.

The 15.6 inch Satellite Pro S500-131 carried an LED-backlit screen with 1366 x 768 pixels resolution, the same Core i3-350M processor, but with 2 GB of memory. Both models make use of Intel's integrated graphics, are powered by Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, and offer connectivity that includes gigabit Ethernet, WiFi b/g/n, and battery life of up to 4 hours, but the 17.3 inch model also offers a multi-gesture trackpad and Bluetooth. Toshiba's new notebooks are available in Europe starting now.

Roccat Greets Gamescom with Taito Kingsize MTW Edition Mousepad
To welcome this year's Gamescom event held in Cologne, Germany; Hamburg-based gaming peripherals vendor Roccat announced the Taito Kingsize mTw Edition mousepad. As the name goes, this mousepad measures 455 x 370 mm, with a thickness of 3.45 mm. The reverse side is rubberized for a proper grip with the surface, while the surface uses a heat-treated nano-textile pattern that the company claims to increase mouse gliding performance along both axes. A large mTw logo decks up the surface. The new mousepad will reach stores by the end of this month, priced at 24.99 EUR.
