Two months after its trade show debut, Gigabyte's customized GeForce GTX 470 Super Overclock Edition graphics card has finally been announced as one of the hottest DirectX 11 solutions for overclockers and enthusiasts with a sufficient budget.

MSI details the CX720 17.3-inch laptop
Before going home to prepare for the weekend, ye olde Taiwanese manufacturer MSI has fired off a new press release to present yet another Classic series notebook, the CX720 17.3-inch model which is based on Intel's Calpella mobile platform.

Another EeeBox is coming our way courtesy of Taiwanese heavyweight Asus and it makes use of a dual-core Atom processor and Nvidia's ION 2 graphics solution. The upcoming Eee-branded machine is called EeeBox PC EB1501P and is shiny nettop with Full HD entertainment capabilities.

The Ubuntu team has made available the third and last alpha release of its next major Ubuntu release - version 10.10 aka Maverick Meerkat. The Alpha 3 is based on the 2.6.35-14.19 kernel, includes GNOME 2.31.6, KDE 4.5 RC3 (Kubuntu), Firefox 3.6.8, as well as other updated software packages.
