EVGA provides BIOS update for its GTX 460 cards
EVGA is turning up the heat on its graphics competition by providing what it terms a Free Performance Boost for select GeForce GTX 460 cards. Specifically aimed at four models in the range - part numbers 768-P3-1360-XX and 01G-P3-1371-XX only - EVGA is providing BIOSes that increase the speed of the cards to 720MHz core. Memory, meanwhile, is left at the particular card's default clocks.

Next-gen ION-based ASUS Eee Box to be released by end of summer
ASUS plans to ship the Eee Box EB1501P home theater nettop in Europe later this summer or early in the fall, according to a Friday confirmation. The computer will bring a dual-core 1.8GHz Atom and Windows 7 Home Premium, and likely get USB 3.0 ports and Bluetooth 3.0, mirroring the specs of the upcoming Eee PC 1215N netbook. There will otherwise be 2GB of RAM and a 250GB hard drive.

GPU Caps Viewer 1.9.0 comes with OpenGL 4 tessellation demo
A new version of GPU Caps Viewer is out and it features a basic but relevant demo to showcase tessellation via OpenGL 4. Beside the OGL 4 tessellation demo, the v1.9.0 release adds support for Nvidia's Tesla C2050 computing processor, provides links to OpenGL registry, and makes use of the debug bit in the creation of the OpenGL 3 or OpenGL 4 context.
