Thermalright reveils giant passive CPU cooler
Despite a host of power-saving features, the 130W TDP of Core i7 CPUs can test even the best coolers. However, engineers at Thermalright think that these CPUs can be cooled with a passive cooler, so they have come up with a model that manages exactly that. The new HR-02 uses six 6mm-heatpipes and a multitude of cooling fins with holes drilled through each layer. According to the manufacturer, this helps to improve ventilation and allows the CPU to keep running at reasonable temperatures.
