Nvidia launches Fermi-based Quadro solutions
Santa Clara's own Nvidia Corp. has today updated its professional graphics offering with five new products, all of which are based on the Fermi architecture, the Quadro 6000, 5000 and 4000 cards, the Quadro 5000M mobile GPU and the Quadro Plex 7000 external 'visualization system'.

SanDisk releases the Cruzer Blade flash drive
SanDisk is back with more flashy fiddling today as it announced the introduction of a new Cruzer series flash drive, the paper clip-sized and capless Cruzer Blade providing super-convenient (easy to carry) storage on-the-go.

Apple Mac Pro added hexa-core CPUs, DirectX 11, more flashy storage
Fruity professionals craving more power from their work rig will soon be able to buy the new Mac Pro which can be equipped with one or two quad-core or hexa-core processors, up to two DirectX 11 graphics card and 8TB worth of storage space (4TB via four SSDs).

New iMacs pack Core i3/i5/i7 processors, have DirectX 11 graphics option
No surprises from Apple today as the company has pretty much released everything that's been rumored, including updated versions of its iMac All-in-One PCs which come equipped with a Core i3, i5 or i7 processor, a 21.5-inch or 27-inch IPS (16:9) panel, and run Mac OS X Snow Leopard.

Apple comes up with 27-inch LED Cinema Display
Apple has today also revealed a 'new and improved' LED Cinema Display which features a 27-inch in-plane switching (IPS) panel, a native screen resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, and an ambient light sensor that will automatically adjust the brightness depending on external conditions.

If you think that mice are like, so 1998 then you'll likely be interested in Apple's latest 'magical' peripheral, the Magic Trackpad which can connect to Macs via Bluetooth and enable them to be controlled through multi-touch.

Interpad 10-inch Tegra 2-powered tablet launching in Germany by year-end
Joining the iPad competitors camp, a company called E-Noa is planning on releasing in Germany the Interpad, a tablet powered by a dual Tegra 2 T20 SoC packing two Cortex-A9 cores @ 1 GHz, that features a 10-inch capacitive touchscreen, 1GB of DDR2 memory, and 16GB of built-in storage.

HANNspree has kicked off this week by announcing the UK launch of the SN10 10-inch netbook based on Intel's Pine Trail platform. The new portable machine is available exclusively from The Carphone Warehouse in two glossy finishes (red and black) and costs Â£229.

Android users can now get their hands on an updated version of Google Maps for mobile which includes a nice little Places icon that will help with quickly finding a restaurant, hotel, store, movie theater, a gas station or other local businesses.

Dell rolling out the Inspiron M101z AMD-powered 11.6-inch laptop
Dell is showing AMD more love by adopting its second-generation ultra-thin platform for its latest Inspiron model, the M101z featuring a 11.6-inch (1366 x 768) LED-backlit display and four color themes to choose from - Clear Black, Peacock Blue, Tomato Red and Lotus Pink.

Catalyst 10.7 available for download
As promised last week, AMD has now rolled out this monthâ€™s Catalyst driver release, the 10.7 version which features WHQL certification, and support for the Radeon HD 2000, HD 3000, HD 4000 and HD 5000 series cards, and the Radeon HD 3000 and HD 4000 series IGPs.

Khronos Group releases the OpenGL 4.1 specifications
Open source supporter the Khronos Group, has today made available an updated version of the OpenGL 2D and 3D graphics API (application programming interface) which, while maintaining backwards compatibility, provides extra features, capabilities as well as support for the OpenGL ES 2.0 API.
