Intel Core i7 875K, i5 655K coming in Q2 with an unlocked multiplier
Spring is in the air and not even Intel can resist showing the world more love than usual, so for Q2 it is preparing at least two LGA 1156 processors that feature an unlocked multiplier, something you can only see currently on Extreme Edition models (and AMD's Black Edition chips).
The more overclocking friendly models in plan are the 32nm Core i5 655K featuring two cores @ 3.2 GHz, 4MB L3 cache, an integrated graphics core and a TDP of 73W (yes, it's 'just' a i5 650 with a changed name, and the unlocked multiplier), and the 45nm Core i7 875K boasting four cores @ 2.93 GHz, 8MB of L3 cache, and a 95W TDP.
The release date of of the two CPUs is unconfirmed but we may have to wait until the end of Q2 to get them.
