
Apple to replace iPads with dead batteries for $99
Apple has announced the Battery Replacement Service for the iPad today, and notably the company has decided to not only replace the battery, but replace the entire device for $99 if you ever need a battery replacement. The service is $99 and $7 shipping, and Apple says it will take about one week turnaround from the time you send in your dead iPad to the time you receive your replacement. To not lose your data, Apple suggests syncing first.

China warns Google about censorship
Chinese Minister of Industry and Information Technology Li Yizhong has issued a strongly worded warning to search outfit Google, over its pledge to stop censoring its search engine. Yizhong said he hopes Google can respect Chinese rules and regulations, but added that the company would have to bear the consequences if it decides cease censoring search results.

I-O Data has announced a new internal Blu-ray writer capable of burning BD-R discs at up to 12x speed (both single and double layer).
