Nvidia releases "new" Geforce GT 300 OEM cards
Keeping up with Nvidia's new found tradition of frequent rebrands, Nvidia has released three new GT 300 (not to be confused with GT300) cards - the GT 320, GT 330 and GT 340.

As you may expect, GT 340 is just the same as a GT 240 - except it is only available as a GDDR5 variant. The only other difference is that the GT 340 apparently plays "flawless" Flash video, whereas the GT 240 only just "plays" Flash video. Whatever that means.

[Rumour] ATI's next generation is 40nm?
According to Fudzilla's sources, ATI's next generation GPUs will continue to be manufactured at TSMC's 40nm process. With TSMC canceling the 32nm process, the next shrink is expected to be the full-node 28nm process. The report claims that TSMC's 28nm process has now slipped to 2011. Furthermore, Globalfoundries' 28nm bulk process is scheduled for 2011, as well, leaving ATI with no choice but to build their next generation GPUs on the same 40nm process HD 5000 series products are fabricated on.

Earlier rumours claimed TSMC were on track to ramp 28nm production by Q4 2010. If the delays to 2011 are indeed true, we can expect 40nm to take us all the way to 2011. Altenatively, ATI might choose to delay their next generation GPU to fit with the 28nm schedule - be it Globalfoundries or TSMC. Given Nvidia's delays, and assuming the GTX 400 series does not significantly outperform ATI's HD 5800/5900 series (and their refreshes), this would be the right moment for ATI to hang on.

ATI Radeon HD 5830 Specs leaked
Just two days away from the Radeon HD 5830's anticipated and delayed release, IT168 has leaked the vital details presentation slides.

As the name suggests, the HD 5830 is based on the same Cypress GPU that powers the HD 5850 and HD 5870. What the name does not suggest, though, is that at the heart of the HD 5830 that is so crippled it hardly resembles a Cypress. Only 14 of the Cypress' 20 SIMDs make it to HD 5830 - with a total of 1120 SP and 56 TMU.

Nvidia Geforce GTX 480 to be unveiled on March 26th
It is official - Nvidia's much anticipated Geforce GTX 480 is all set to be unveiled at PAX East 2010 on March 26th 2010, at 6PM local time (at Boston, MA).

However, the choice of words makes it unclear as to what kind of an "unveiling" this really is. Given the GTX 480s numerous "launches" and "demonstrations", for all we know, this might be yet another. What we can expect, though, is a paper launch.
