
EKL reveals the Fأƒآ¶hn120 Wing Boost case fan
EKL has just unveiled the Fأƒآ¶hn120 Wing Boost, a new, high-end 120mm case fan targeting enthusiasts that want a good mix between sound output and performance. Seen below, the fan features a frame with a soft rubber layer that helps reduce vibration, a hydraulic bearing, nine blades with a tweaked wing design, and works at speeds between 500 and 1500 RPM (rotations per minute).
At its maximum speed, the Fأƒآ¶hn120 WB has a sound output of 19.7 dBA and am airflow of 108 m3/h. The release date and price tag of the fan have not been detailed.

Intel 'Tukwila' Itanium CPUs finally shipping
After over a year of delay, Intel has confirmed that its newest Itanium processor, codename Tukwila, has begun to ship for revenue, a fancy launch being prepared for later this quarter (probably next month). Manufactured using 65nm technology, Tukwila is a 2+ billion quad-core CPU that features two integrated memory controllers, eights threads, 30MB of cache, and a TDP of 130W.
According to Intel, the new Itanium "more than doubles the performance of its predecessor [Montvale] and adds a range of new scalability, reliability, and virtualization features."
The next-gen Itanium, known as Poulson, is set to be made on 32nm and should arrive in the next couple of years.

Nikon also readies the L110 and L22 cameras
Later this month Nikon is going to update its Life family of digital cameras with two new models providing to make snapping and sharing digital photos easy and fun. The higher-end model prepared is called COOLPIX L110 and it features a 12.1 megapixel CCD sensor, a 3-inch (460,000-dot) LCD, 15x optical zoom, a maximum sensitivity of ISO 6400, a a 5-way Vibration Reduction (VR) image stabilization system, 43MB of internal memory and an SD/SDHC memory slot.
The more compact, and cheaper COOLPIX L22 packs a 12MP sensor, a 3-inch (230,000-dots) screen, 3.6x zoom, VR electronic image stabilization, a sensitivity of up to ISO 1600, 19MB of built-in memory, and SD/SDHC support.
Both the L110 and L22 include the Smart Portrait System and Scene Auto Selector technologies that aid in the making of some sweet shots, and have USB connectivity.
The COOLPIX L110 is expected to debut at $280, while the COOLPIX L22 will go for just $130.

I-O Data comes up with external 8x Blu-Ray writer
Japan's own I-O Data has today revealed the BRD-UH8LE, a speedy external Blu-Ray writer based around LG/Hitachi's BH10N drive. Seen below, this new Blu-Ray solution measures 166 (W) x 240 (D) x 60.5 (H) mm and weights 2.3kg, has 4MB of buffer memory, and offers write speeds of 8x for BD-R, 6x for BD-R LTH, 2x for BD-RE, 16x for DVD-R/+R SL, 12x for DVD-RAM, 8x for DVD-R/+R DL and DVD+RW, 6x for DVD-RW, 48x for CD-R and 24x for CD-RW.
The BRD-UH8LE is backed by a one-year warranty and costs about $267.

Nikon COOLPIX P100 can do 26x zoom, Full HD recording
Nikon has today taken the veil off the COOLPIX P100, its first compact camera capable of recording Full HD (1920x1080) videos, and at 30 FPS. This new model measures 82.7 (H) x 114.4 (W) x 98.6 (D) mm, weights about 481 grams and features a 10.3 megapixel Backside Illumination CMOS sensor, a 3-inch 460,000-dot LCD screen, 26x optical zoom, a maximum sensitivity of ISO 3200, in-camera High Dynamic Range (HDR), and a 5-way image stabilization system.
"Our portfolio of cameras is designed to ensure that any photographer, at any level, can find the camera that feels right for them," said Bo Kajiwara, director of marketing, Nikon. "The P100 blends a stellar lens with creative automatic and manual features to allow the more advanced consumer to explore the boundaries of their photographic capabilities."
The P100 supports SD/SDHC memory cards, has HDMI connectivity, and is set to become available next month for $400. For more info about this model see Nikon's website.

Nokia's free navigation software passes 1.4 million downloads
Nokia has proudly announced today that the latest version of its Ovi Maps app, which offers free walk and drive navigation, has been downloaded over 1.4 million times, the 1 million milestone being reached just one week after release. According to the Finnish company, the top countries by downloads were China, Italy, UK, Germany and Spain, while the most popular phones using the new software are the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, N97 mini, N97, 5230 and E72.
"We're averaging a download a second, 24 hours a day," said Anssi Vanjoki, Executive Vice President, Nokia. "When we announced free walk & drive navigation we knew it would be a game-changer. The number of people now using their Nokia for navigation, and as a result looking for more location-aware software, is growing faster than even we predicted."

Gateway updates its FX, DX and SX series desktops
Acer subsidiary Gateway is bringing its FX gaming desktops, DX multimedia PCs and SX small for factor (SFF) PCs up to speed and ready to take on the 2010 competition. First up, we have the FX offer, which has received a makeover and utilizes a redesigned tower chassis with adjustable lighting effects, an angled media card reader, and an all-black coating.
In terms of specs, the new FX models (FX6831-01 and FX6831-03) have a 2.8 GHz Core i7 860 processor, an AMD Radeon HD 5850 1GB graphics card and a 1.5TB hard drive. The FX6831-01 boasts 8GB of RAM, a 16x DVD writer, and costs $1,299.99, while the FX6831-03 has 16GB of RAM, both a DVD writer and a Blu-Ray drive, and goes for $1,699.99. Both systems are powered by Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.

FurMark 1.8.0 released
Time to make your graphics card scream like a little girl again, as a new version of the popular stress testing and benchmarking utility, FurMark, has just been released. Coming to push the latest GPUs to their limits, FurMark 1.8.0 features:
- New: now all options are available in benchmarking mode: Xtrem Burning, postfx (FX) and displacement mapping (DM).
- New: added new effet (displacement mapping) on the fur rendering.
