ASUS MY-CINEMA PHC3-150 HDTV-Tuner Card :: Posted by THRASHER2
The recent switch from analog to digital television was mainly driven by the benefits of digital technology over its analog predecessor. Though digital television has become ubiquitous the conversion cannot be instantaneous, nor will analog technology simply vanish. During this transitional period of converting analog infrastructures into a digital foundation, hybrid devices like the My Cinema PHC3-150 Combo TV-Tuner Card will be essential. These hybrid devices work with both signal types allowing for a smoother transition. In this article Benchmark Reviews tests the performance of the PHC3-150. Even if you've already made the transition to digital systems you may want to check out some tricks to extract even more utility from the hybrid features of this card.

MSI P55-GD85 LGA 1156 Intel Motherboard Review :: Posted by THRASHER2
"MSI has a staggering nine Intel P55 motherboards and a total of 14 LGA1156 motherboards available. Today we have MSI's P55-GD85 which sits up near the top of boards. In the MSI pecking order sitting at the top is the MSI P55 Big Bang Fuzion at $369.99 followed closely by the MSI P55 Big Bang Trinergy at $329.99. Sitting a full $100 lower at $229.99 is the P55-GD85 motherboard which, strangely enough, features a few key technologies that aren't included on the Big Bang boards. Namely these are USB 3.0 and SATA 6 Gbps. Oh yes, this is another one of those USB 3.0/Sata 6Gbps boards. So, why is this IO toting board priced a full $100 lower than the Big Bang boards, and should it concern you?"

ASUS P7H55D-M EVO Clarksdale Motherboard :: Posted by THRASHER2
Intel-land is becoming a very confusing place of late. An Intel Core i7 processor might be Socket 1366, or it might be Socket 1156. A Core i5 processor might be dual core or quad core; it might have Hyper-Threading or not, or integrated video or other features, and there's no way to tell just from the name. And to make things even more confusing, there are now four consumer-level chipsets for Core i5 processors: the original P55, as well as the new H55, H57, and Q57 chipsets. The newer chipsets are required if you want to use the integrated video feature of some of the Intel 2010 Core Processor Family CPUs, and ASUS, as always, is ready with new motherboards to support the latest technology. In this review Benchmark Reviews covers the new ASUS P7H55D-M EVO motherboard, based on the Intel H55 chipset.

Gigabyte X58A-UD3R Intel X58 LGA 1366 Motherboard Review :: Posted by THRASHER2
آ“So in the back of my mind I had decided we had probably seen the last of the LGA 1366. A shame too, as there are other new technologies coming online, SuperSpeed USB 3, and SATA 6GB/s, and I figured the only way a Bloomfield user would get to use them would be by expansion cards. Then just last weekend I was chatting with a friend that had attended CES, who told me that Intel was working on a new LGA 1366 processor line, a six-core monster using 32nmآ…yeah, I know, Iآ’m behind the times, the gossip about the new processors started back in Nov-Dec, but I was busy آ“fixing upآ” a &l dquo;fixer-upperآ” house and moving during that time. Anyway, I got a little excited, hoping that maybe LGA 1366 wasnآ’t dead, just in hibernation. The very next day, lo and behold, our friends at Gigabyte placed a cool little gem into my handsآ…a brand new LGA 1366 motherboard, complete with onboard SATA 6GB/s and USB 3. Today I will be looking at the Gigabyte X58A-UD3R, the entry-level model of their three new X58 motherboards, which appear to be designated differently from the older models by an آ“Aآ” after the X58 in their name, and ending with an آ“Rآ” rather than the usual آ“Pآ”. Will this be the board of the future? Read on to see!"

Aliens Vs Predator PC Game DX11 Performance Benchmarks :: Posted by THRASHER2
"Gaming enjoyment aside, the performance of all the cards tested was solid. The ATI Radeon HD 5870 graphics card is the flagship single-GPU video card from AMD and it easily played AvP at 1920x1080 with the image quality cranked up. The Radeon HD 5750 was able to play the game at these settings, but to really enjoy the game and to get silky smooth frame rates we had to spend a little time tweaking the settings on the video card. This is great news as ~$150 mainstream graphics cards like the Sapphire Vapor X Radeon HD 5750 will be able to enjoy DX11 game titles without sacrificing too much image quality..."

Cyber Snipa Silencer Review - XSReviews :: Posted by THRASHER2
"For the professional, there's one component of the gaming world that arguably stands out above the rest in importance. You can always disable anisotropic filtering and drop the resolution if you want to claw back a few extra frames each second, but the precision and effective "frame-rate" of your mouse will always be limited by the technology in which you invest.

It's with this in mind that we now set out to put Cyber Snipa's latest offering, the Silencer, to the test. These fine folks from down under are a worldwide player in the market for high-end gaming peripherals. Is their newest laser-guided rodent truly one to live up to its name and silence the critics? Let's find out."
