
MSI R5770 Hawk announced
MSI has today officially introduced its first Hawk series card, a custom, and slightly overclocked Radeon HD 5770. Seen below, the R5770 Hawk features a black PCB equipped with Military Class components (Hi-c CAP, solid state capacitors, and solid state inductors), a 7+1 phase design that provides 100% more current than reference cards, built-in voltage measurement points, and the dual-slot dual-fan Twin Frozr II cooling system which boasts three heatpipes.

Chaintech presents the Apogee SSD Convertor
Walton Chaintech is serving up a speedy new storage solution in the form of Apogee SSD Convertor, a 2.5-inch device that can be equipped with one or two (in RAID 0/1) CompacFlash memory cards and act as a solid state drive. The faster/larger the CF cards used, the greater the performance and capacity offered by the convertor which comes with a SATA 3.0 interface. According to its maker, the Apogee SSD Convertor can deliver read speeds of up to 55 MB/s, but, again, it all depends on the cards used.

Microsoft cuts Zune HD prices to fight rivals
Microsoft in the past few days has quietly cut prices on the Zune HD through an at least temporary promo. The touchscreen media player now costs $190 for a 16GB model at Amazon, or $32 less than the original price; the 32GB model has dropped by a similar amount to $250. Microsoft's own store has also dropped its prices by a lesser amount, to $200 for a 16GB Zune HD and $270 for a 32GB edition. Walmart and other retailers are also closely matching Amazon's prices.

Motorola Devour to launch with Flash support
More details have been released on the upcoming Motorola Devour from Verizon, and it appears that the Android device will launch with Adobe Flash Lite, giving the phone the Flash support that no other Android device has had yet, including more expensive brother phone, the Verizon Motorola DROID.

Gmail and Google Calendar dropping IE6 support
In addition to Docs and Sites, two more Google services, Gmail and Calendar, have been confirmed to be phasing out support for old browsers like Internet Explorer 6, Firefox 2.0 and Safari 2.0 this year. Docs and Sites will make the move on March 1st but Gmail and Calendar are expected to 'keep' supporting the mentioned browsers a little longer.

Ikonoscop a-cam III-d shoots videos in 3D
So what is next in the sphere of 3D? A device for projecting your dreams in 3D? All right, that may sound too far-fetched for this day and age, but Ikonscop introduced a new video camera capable of recording two images at 1920x1080 pixels and storing them as individual RAW files in DNG format, which can be used to produce a 3D movie. Color dept is 12 bit and speed is 25 or 30 fps.

British firm launches the iTablet
Literally following right on the heels of Apple's device is British manufacturer X2 Mobile Computers, who has jumped on the tablet bandwagon with a product it candidly calls the iTablet. The iPad-like device, pictured above with an Apple-esque white finish, will become available in either 10.2in or 12in form factors, with both models offering a 1,024x768 resolution. There's a 1.6GHz Intel processor inside - presumably of the Atom variety - along with 250GB of storage and a 1.3 megapixel webcam. The latter, of course, is something the Apple iPad misses (or so we herd).
