Active Media introduces 600x CompactFlash cards
Active Media Products has now expanded its storage offer with the Pro line of 600x-rated CompactFlash memory cards. Targeting professional photographers, the Type I cards make use of MLC (multi-level cell) NAND flash memory chips, can operate at 3.3 / 5.0V, and deliver sequential read and write speeds of up to 90 MB/s.
"Many pro DSLRs can rapid fire up to 10 frames per second, but after the buffer fills they can only shoot as fast as the memory card can write. The memory card becomes a bottleneck in shooting action sequences," said Active Media Products' VP of Sales, Jerry Thomson. "These 600X Pro Series cards can write up to 90MB per second, so even in raw mode a high end DSLR will be able to shoot at or near its rated speed for sustained periods."
The new 8GB, 16GB, 32GB and 64GB CompactFlash cards are available on Amazon.com for $99.95, $179.95, $229.95 and $299.95, respectively.
